What we leave behind

    What we leave behind!

On the day that we are born is the day our lives begin

we’ll leave behind footprints to where we all have been

some impressions will linger on so do keep that in mind

its those things that will live on as to what we leave behind

during our time on earth were taught all kinds of things

like how to live the life were given without the age-old sins

some will give all they have strength and honor intertwined

its those times we live for as to what we leave behind

so make sure you live your life the way god wants you too

and seek his guidance and his love in everything you do

so when your time on earth is done please bear in mind

the love you’ve given thru out your life is what you’ll leave behind

Sound of Drums: Based on Les Miserables

Sound of Drums

Smoke, ashes, sound of drums.

Smoke, ashes, sound of drums.

Smoke, ashes, sound of drums.

Smoke, ashes, sound of drums.

The day is past.

The dead are dead.

Their lives for naught.

Rebellion, they led.

Their Freedom!,

Never was.

Their Freedom!,

Will never be.

Slaves, chains, sound of drums.

Slaves, chains, sound of drums.

Slaves, chains, sound of drums.

Slaves, chains, sound of drums.

The time is past.

The slaves are slaves.

Their lives ruled by law.

The rebellion, did not last.

Their bravery, their flaw.

Their Freedom!,

Never was.

Their Freedom!,

Will never be.

Smoke, ashes, sound of drums.

Smoke, ashes, sound of drums.

Smoke, ashes, sound of drums.

Smoke, ashes, sound of drums.

*Red,White,And Blue*

Trisha M. Barrek-Hopkins

Red,White, and Blue
Who would of thought
Who would of knew
That these colors are a symbol of freedom
People decide to let it in their hearts
It wasn't bought

To bring this nation together
To bring peace to our home
This symbol is here to stay forever
No hate can tare our faith apart
We will never fight alone
Together we stand strong from the start

Each morning we sing
That brings joy to each of our souls
To many... these colors
They are more then a material thing
To many of us ...For the beginning of the day
It is a great goal
A song of peace to our minds it will bring
That our flag will always sway

Red is for the warriors who bled
To keep the family and friends free
White is for those who got lost in the clouds
Blue is for the proof we have clean air to breathe
The stripes are for the ships that blow their horns so loud

We are strong
Our world is built as one
We try to understand
Those who did wrong
From all these deaths our minds are still in amazement
We must for our heros remain strong
And pray with one knee to the pavement

With the Red,White, and Blue by our side
We stand tough and tall
The power to fight good we will not hide
From any evil that can try to make us fall
Because our heros will put up a hell of a fight before they died

I Have an Unknown Friend

I have an unknown friend, who lives in the sky

Why I question him, I do not know why

I should not go to look for him, they say

But I know he'll want to look for me someday

I wonder, I ponder, even as I sleep

I dare not awake, for I have gone too deep

But again, the sun calls to another abrupt wake

Alone again, to find an answer for my sake

I take another step foward, for this I will fight

Forever wrapped in this question, how it echoes through the burning light

Never Gone

Love, Romance

Truer words could not be said,

Nor rainbows beamed from flesh unwed,

To know one's soul, and hold its light,

From hands of love such sparks ignite,

If I lay me down to sleep,

And leave this vessel, please do not weep,

For love like ours n'er be denied,

Behind the veils of moments cried,

If I wander do not be pained,

For it is this love that I mean to sustain,

Close thine eyes and feel this heart,

For its been yours at my very start,

Before the sun shined light on earth,

The seeds were planted for love's birth,

And you and I became as one,

To live this life that has begun,

Hold it tender, love it sweet,

Until again our lips will meet.

As I wrote somehow the thought of JFKs death rose within me and my love for my better half. Probably because of the date you wrote your poem. -peace-

Inner self

Im short
9 days short
Pearnts come home
They Ague On why
on why im short
I Dont know why
My father turns to my mother
asks her have u taken them
She stands there in a shocked gaze on her face
a worrying look tells it all Tells it all
I realise why im short all the time now
I need them to do my everyday life habbits
I realie on them for school
I realie on them For Controlling myself
For every single thing i do
I need them
with out them im lost
lost in pitch black darkness
Last time I was stupid
it cost me friends
it cost me my Job
that right my job
My only sorce of money
I Did somthing stupid i didnt have them at all
4 weeks with out them Cost me soo much
mentally and physically
I gained weight
I suffered the depression
I suffered losing wat mattered to me
If only she didnt take them
I would still have a job
I wouldnt of done what i had done

No longer safe

There was a time we played outside half the night
Til evil filled our lives with worry and fright
The laughter and peace is replaced with anger and grief
No longer do we feel safe anymore
for danger and hatred is behind every door
Their joy comes from filling our days with fear
By threatening the lives of those we hold dear
Times have changed for the worse I see
Please Lord protect my baby and bring him home safely to me
