The Death of One

The Death of One

A blood orange moon hangs above
an ashen willow tree
underneath a path of cremated things.
Through the rotton remains
of something strange.
Descending down in thick black coils of mist
like snakes that move and twist , to the
Dark City where only death exists.

In each crosswalk , pushing past the cloned
cattle that crowd the street , going to slaughter
at the holy temples where they meet.
Down the parkway where every door painted red is
adorned with shrunken heads.
Bad religion holds dominion over those of
delusional opinions.

Coming upon a single oil lamp
shrouded in gloom above  a blackened door
heavy as a tomb.
Enshrined with cellar vines
decaying with corpse fed roots
that hang obtuse.

As the door struggles inward , the wind breathes shallow
candlelight throws shadows on the family congregation .
Slender  yellow eyes quiver ,
leer and lurch from atop their perch on a
mountain of belief , held upon pillars of salt
that crumble
thats faith
a cancer , feeding on the brain
bleeding
no healing
just stealing life ,
til gravity gives ground to the
illusion .

From behind the blackened door
at the gate  , be brave and wait . From the living to the dead ,
the slurred screams of endearment echo in my head .
A confession of confinement to your
death bed where you have been led into the darkness
that holds you.  For the moment far from the reach of pains
enrollment.  Memories will soon replace constraint and grow in the light
of the tunnel to free  you from the exhaustion of this lifes struggle.
You will soon know peace through deaths release.

Religion and Government

Folder:
Just a thought!
Religion and Government
From beginnings in time, Religions ruled..Government was Religion.
Religion, Government, People, Power, Property.
Sects within religion..Government adopting stronger sects, changing beliefs.
Bigger sect, more people, more soldiers, more war, more land to rule.
Now, follow, flee, or fight and die. Banners flown, heads rolled.
People marching by the thousands to escape control, continued beliefs.
The meek shall inherit the Earth, Only the strong survive... all in perspective.
Religions are dangerous. Followers beware. If you researched their history,
Your choice of doctrine to follow would be one of skepticism.
Just to pick one...Roman Catholic, One of the most powerful. "They still rule their
own city."  Thousands upon thousands were put to death to implement that Religion.
Started by one dictator wanting to rule the world and fill pockets of the chosen ones.
Thank God, our government has seen fit to separate "church and state"...

Otherwise we'd all be Muslim!

The Whispering Winds, A song they sing
A song of sorrow and of a heart so big
Your loves reaches as far as the eye can see
I believe in dreams because in my heart...you beat
Just as a gentle breeze shimmers every leaf
Your love, in every heart, plants a seed
Elegance, love and hope is what grows beneath
....This is your gift to us...
For safekeeping
So, if you ever wonder why heaven sings
Its because now you fly....

just stop for a moment

just stop for a moment

and picture a place and time

way, way back there in the past

when greek and roman mythology

both reigned supreme

back when the world was still quite young

with lots of forests and woodlands

and covered over with pretty shades of green

then one special day

god reached down to earth

and came upon a young boy

who was really just half grown

happily swimming in the ocean

with a dolphin

long before the fear of humans

had ever been sown

anyways he was out there at sea

although he was all by himself

he was protected and safe

there with the dolphins

and somehow still very close to home

long before anyone had ever thought

to even giving him a name

or carve his statute in stone

for right now at least ---

he was still a young boy

happily swimming in the ocean

but really all alone

now think back to a time

long before people hungered

for the emptiness of fortune and fame

long before anyone had ever thought

to give the boy a name

but on that special day

god spoke and said

look ---

I know you’re just a young boy

swimming out here in the ocean

and having lots of fun

way out here at the sea

under a bright and warm summer sun

but if you didn’t act so dumb

and sometimes kind of stupid

you could almost be another angel

or even another cupid

because cupid would fly around

just all over the place

and touch each person’s heart

among every creed and race

the boy listened – but couldn’t speak

was this really god ?

and was he really this near ?

and was he really this close ?

the boy was totally stunned now

and overcome with anguish and fear

then god was gone

and the boy was alone again

with just his troubled thoughts

and mixed up hopes and dreams

and maybe even some silent

confused and muddled screams

but he thought to himself

over and over again in his mind

for at least a thousand times

( and you might as well know it right now !!! )

he was still looking for more proof

or at least a few more signs

anyways he thought to himself

those things that cupid spoke of

whether they’re real or not

or whether they came down from heaven

or from some distant galaxy

way way out there in outer-space

or were they just from

some crazy person’s wild imagination

whatever creed – whatever race

because --- if they really do make people happy

really, really happy

( for he too was kind of like cupid )

( sometimes kind of – sort of a little stupid )

for he simply couldn’t figure out

or understand why

if those things that cupid spoke of

if they make people – really, really happy

THEN WHY ON GOD’S GREEN EARTH ----???

DO THEY ALSO MAKE PEOPLE CRY ----???

Curses Too Kritic/ Invocations From The Soul- Part Six & 7 (The Pain Behind-The-Sun)

Living with pain is the curse of my soul;

the Grand Architect told me I was a poet

before my time, my words too never die;

the devil and I made a pact...

curse mankind, evoke and deliver the

Antichrist- From the dark side of the

moon to the coldest side of the sun, I

radiate heat with a cold heart....cursed be

thy name upon all that is holy and

righteous- momentary lapse in reason are

now regular relapses without reason or

'idea of,' no point intended....

To those whom an apology is owed; you

will not get it from me. Curses upon thee,

those who deny me, creator of criticism;

when all else fails my soul prevails. My

writings cannot be constructively

critiqued, for I tell it like it is, similar to a

deadly disease you know it's spreading

manifesting its potency until you are fully

engaged or comfortably numb. A bad

omen foretold me of the curses to come,

including the birth of my first child; a

blessing I have yet to witness....only

embarrassment towards my child's mother;

I am the curse in her life, the agony of her

lament, and the poet she wishes never met.

Invocations of malice and melancholy;

happiness will be death, malignant in nature.

Each and everyone, yes, you the reader,

life's dreamer, has a story to tell, hold that

thought, mine is better, and only I can tell it

well. Forgiveness is best to ask than

permission; neither do I ask for, I am absolute,

soon to rule over biblical fanatics, fucken

hallelujah!!

What do I do Now?

Lord help me through this time,

Lord help me through this time,

I don’t know what do,

I don’t know what to ask,

I don’t know who to talk to,

I don’t know even know you.

Wisdom is the weapon but the line is thin,

On one side I’m in agony,

On the other in pain.

I am past the anger,

I am past the fear,

Show me the truth that I seek,

Though not of my will.

I am stuck in the loop,

With no light to be seen,

But as long as I’m in it,

I will find. the end…

Unbound Faith

Faith is unbound by extremist pressure,
Lick the wounds of a liberal fissure.
The point-blank wound given an emissary,
A Soluble cure for the target preliminary.

A fast food chain of asphyxiation,
We give up hope for the stationary.
All falsehood gospels of visionary,
Cough and whine under political disciplinary.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Short, but to the point, I would think.

The Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Clan

Once upon a time in a far away land,

An ice cream Queen led the Vanilla Bean Clan.
Their containers were generally purple and blue,
Still, no one, but no one really knew,
If the Vanilla Bean Clan’s flavor was true.

You see, their lids were cast from forged steel.
A welded ring formed an impenetrable seal.
With no window or door for the curious to explore,
No one really knew their flavor for sure.

The Queen’s edict, ruled the land,
No one, but no one, in her clan
Shall ever remove their lid, for if they did,
The penalty was death by thaw,
For those who did and those who saw.

Once upon a day in this far away place,
A teen brought upon the kingdom disgrace,
He replaced his lid with cellophane, his flavor plainly seen,
This ice cream teen was butter pecan, not vanilla bean.
No one but no one should have a cellophane screen!
And if that weren’t enough to disgrace the Queen,
His container was not purple and blue, but breen.

The legislature worked quickly to outlaw breen,
Before the child was brought before the angered Queen,
To answer for violating the rule of the land,
And for the secondary charge of “butter pecan.”
Before sentencing the boy to die,
The Queen asked one question, “Why?”
To whit the eloquent teen did reply:

“I beg you great Queen, hear my plea,
My Queen, My Queen, how beautiful are thee,
Your container and lid are for all to envy,
The only thing that could rival such perfection,
Is your inner Flavor that I can only imagine,
Although never seen, I accepted this as true,
But hope you will share your flavor with me
as I have shared my butter pecan with you."

The Queen responded before a packed hall
Of pint sized dignitaries and peasants and all,
Conspiracy to "off a lid" is a capitol offense,
Wishing to see my flavor is not a defense,
I am beautiful and he is not,
So offing my lid was his jealous plot!
His fate was sealed when he was caught!
Throw the revolutionary into the melting pot.

As the boy melted into butter pecan stew,
He screamed out to the Queen, what he now knew,
I see! … I see! … I see you!

Although the Queen’s lid was still securely intact,
Her vanity and in-ice-creamity were indefensible facts.
Her flavor was now keenly known.
One might think she would be overthrown,
But one would be wrong now and then,
For no one took their lid off ever again.
No one, but no one in the Vanilla Bean Clan,
Wanted to end up like butter pecan.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem is meant to represent the idea of an authority tell people who they are and who they should be, and punishing people for exploring and embracing their individualism. Although the Vanilla Bean Queen refuses to let you see the true of herself directly, the true of her is nonetheless exposed through her actions (i.e., "I SEE YOU").

Hyrda

Mortal so he comes,

Be it not for his immortal crowned head,

Thorned upon the throes of man and beast.

His eyes fall upon the soul of Hadies world,

Formed against decapitated ring heads.

Maybe his past soul fell among the rubble of distant times,

Punished by Zeus to see all gaze into his octopian eyes.

Every man fears his stare,

poisoned among those iris hollowed strong,

Like the holes of Christian feet,

Bleeding for eternity among the sin

Of what once was.
