Infrequent, my evilest episodes

Invade my mind and destroy my beloved joy.

Bouts of doubt and hopelessness fill my brain

And comprehension of consistent sorrow reasserts itself.

The fog of war settles over my soul

As a violent struggle for peaceful thoughts over despair persists.

My joy is lost but the battle is won

And I will reconstruct my happy state accepting its imminent departure.

I Felt The Words

This Love

I felt the words you spoke to me,

Like a refreshing summer rain.

For they washed away, like arid dust,

So much hurt, and so much pain.

Carresing my skin with worded touch,

Your conversation soothed, my aching soul.

Like a healing balm, it fixed my breaks,

And repaired new, what was less than whole.

With such simple, heartfelt dialogue,

You spoke volumes to, my tattered heart.

By your gentle tones and whispered love,

I knew you, were my one missing part.

And every time you hold me so close,

Expressing to me, more of your devotion,

I feel those words, like warming breath,

I feel your every single, loving emotion.

"On the Wings of Love"

Just a thought!

You are the wind within me, the very air I breathe,

filling up my lungs, just to take my breath away

You compromise my soul in attempts to make me whole,

my heart no longer mine to have a say

You breech the very walls, erected in my mind,

their integrity has fallen to your charms

No longer do I feel the need to stave off close encounter,

the embrace of love, melts me in your arms

Take me now and spread my wings, to blossom in the wind,

so all may see the beauty I have longed to realize

Hold me close and dance with me, and see new life begin,

This love now holds the future in our eyes.'

"Aimlessly Searching"

Just a thought!

Another dark ocean slips the moon through the sky

While Star fish twinkle, in distant deapths of the night

Her radiant glow, bounces beams off the shores

Turning sparkling white sand, to gems in the light

Weary travelers cross a sea of moonlit waves

Destiny set, by corrected course and prevailing winds

Sailing treacherous waters for the time it saves

Seeking land with treasures, and new life to begin.

Always searching for something more out of life

Beit land or love or endless riches to hide

Willing to transverse to the ends of the earth,  for,

"The grass is always greener on the other side."

Chasing Stars

Just a thought!

She traveled through a world of stars, searching for some truth

Light years took her far away, trading on her youth

A quantum leap through time and space, pulsing through her mind,

Chasing universal maps, to a love she couldn't find

Scheduled stops to fuel the heart, would take her to the edge

But, fields of stone and no fly zones, would always drive a wedge

A plethora of course corections, cut extended flights

Only straight and smooth terrain, could spur her landing lights

Somewhere in the universe, a cosmic future lies...

One who sees celestial stars, reflecting in your eyes.

Fields of Glory

Fields of Glory

Cars on I-5 go whooshing by,
I pretend the sound is the waves on the shore.
A dead leaf falls to the floor with a crackle.
Too bad, I liked that plant.
You have to be tough to make it here now..

This place didn't used to be so crowded-
once it was like a tidy clean field.
There was the rare flower here and there but
most of the weeds were cleared.
As yet untilled, waiting, yes, anything but fallow..

Long legged man saunters by,
likes my tidy fields with the rogue flowers;
Sees my soil so dark and rich and warm.
He rises up with his long legs and heavy sack,
him thinking I have waited for his seed to be reborn..

And he does sink that big plow
into the loamy dark depths.
That man, he becomes strong.
Might filling his muscles with right.
The day seems forever long enough..

I smile from my kitchen,
my love like the glow in a cat's eye.
Seeing the gifts he brings me,
I start the cooking
Hard work needs it's reward..

Later with his rough hands
tangled in my long hair, his mouth soft whispers,
I knew the land would bloom.
She and I would give forth our bounty.
When it did, it was good and happiness grew.

The long legged man smiled
as he sighed into his favorite chair.
I began the aftercare
the cleaning, the canning,
the collecting of the dreams..

The babies came and whirled about my feet,
grew so tall, laughed and went away.
Young trees grew old and the road dusty.
The fields aren't quite tidy now,
Creaking knees gave way to weeds..

I wait in the civil twilight
listening to the cricket song.
Waiting for something to happen.
Inside a low, long snore calls out to me
While a book drops to the floor.

"Adventures of the Heart"

Just a thought!

All this time, I've been told..."Absence makes the Heart grow fonder,"

Only to find out, you're just left dazed and empty inside. You remain

Standing alone, smoldering in ashes, then drowning in a pool of sorrow,

Made from a river of your own tears to extinguish the flame.

Now you're stuck up a creek without a paddle as you plummet

Over the falls into the dark obyss, churned up in endless swells of

Self pity and loneliness.  Drenched and half drowned from swallowing

Your pride, you pull yourself up on the rocky shore, pausing for a

Moment to catch a breath and reflect back, realizing, you survived.

Now, the long walk home, weighing your options, sequencing events,

Taking in all that's happened, you are anxious, and anticipate making

better plans... for your next, wild adventure.

Love’s fate

A girl I met a match in heaven,

More dark as me could be no better than my old lucky number seven.

Our lives started so grand the faults so small,

Being without each other just makes my skin crawl.

The people came against us one by one,

As every year that past we became that much strong.

Almost seven years now under our belt,

When she is not drinking she makes my heart melt

To wake every morning her face I first see.

The feelings in my heart larger than the sea.

To realize after time I have choices make,

These choices so hard that will certainly control our fate
