We Dance

They say. “you’ve got nothing to give, if you give yourself nothing”

That’s the point of it.

There’s really nothing.

We are neither here, nor there.

There’s really no one.

We’re all just electrical expressions of life

Moving in time space

Breathing in air

Buckets of water

Cataclysms of emotion

Which is why I still care

Why I still want to show you…

every peace of me

I still want to give myself to you…

I still want to know you

with every moment that I breathe

You are who I am to be

You are who I choose

You are the one, the only one

You, my divinity, are the truth in me

Baseball Everywhere

Elvin and Leroy were baseball players
From the time they were six years old
And best friends since the early days
A million baseball stories to be told

Their entire lives had been consumed
By the game of baseball which they
Played together all through school
Then pro-Negro league as Blue Jays

Even in retirement baseball was key
Games at the ball park and on the t.v.
Indeed – it was a sad day when Elvin
Passed away from a cardio infraction

Poor Leroy was hurt and felt so alone
He had always had Elvin by his side
And now without – was totally thrown
Unable to handle that Elvin had died

Leroy missed Elvin so much that he
Kept talking to him – always his plea
“Please let me know how you’re doing
So I can quit all my silly brooding”

But nothing – no answer from Elvin
Until late one night – in the kitchen
Leroy was talking - asking his friend
For a message – some sign to be sent

Leroy was sitting at the table and
Heard Elvin so asked – “that you man”
Without hesitation the voice of Elvin
Clear as day – “It’s me – good friend”

Leroy was both shocked and ecstatic
He started talking and then did ask
About baseball in heaven – and Elvin
Said – “Leroy – it really is heaven”

“They got baseball everywhere and
You should see the fields and parks
Just like we used to dream and plan
And got beautiful lights after dark”

“That is wonderful news” – said Leroy
“Wonderful – is there any bad news”
Elvin began tentatively – “well old boy
There is some bad news I brought you”

“What bad news - Elvin ” – Leroy asked
“Tell me – whatever - be what it might “
So Leroy started slow then said it fast
“Elvin - you’re pitchin’ tomorrow night”

*Every Word Is Meant For You*

February .17. 1997
Trisha M Barrek  Hopkins

No one else but you
Fill my heart with laughter
No one else will do
I know what I was after
You are the one who should get the token
For being so true

I want you to know how I feel
My search is over
Knowing I can say our love is real
You will always be my four leaf clover

I believe in you
Someone who believes in dreams
Someone who believes in love that doesn't end
Wishing all my thoughts and dreams come true
I'd never hurt your pride
My love I would never pretend

I' glad your the one I found
My feelings for you I wont hide
You're the one who turned my life around
I will always be by your side

How I really felt
Only if you really knew
You'll always be in my heart

Every word is meant for you
I will fight anyone who tries to tare us apart
Make sure your heart stays free of hatred and becomes true
Having and keeping friendship is where the love did start

Smile lines :)

There it is,

your infectious laugh!

catching me off guard and pulling me into light

smiling glints of warm in your eyes

every slight, every insult lashed upon my grace

forgotten,  melted away,

lost in that throaty yet light warm chuckle,

oozing charm and charisma every time

I am lost in your joy,

hug me close and make me feel alive and real

kiss my love with your soul

wrap me in your happiness

its the only kind I live for...

This Old House

This old house is alone

Dark and damp

Where there used to be sunshine

Now is gloom

There are a lot of rooms

Plenty of places to hide

But you hear nor see any children

Just the quiet

The walls whisper

In the deep night

Mirrors watch you

Everywhere you go

There used to be laughter

Now only tears

Someone died

Deep inside

This old house

Has been through storms

Hail and snow

Thunder and lightning

Yet came out strong

Has many memories

Of past and future

Just another home

Open the window

Let out the dust

Mop the floors

Let them shine

The spider on the wall

Has been here too long

A beautiful web

She has weaved

But this old house

Needs to let her go

It needs lots of work

People to come and go

divine alchemy

Through the divine

alchemy of time,

our anger is turned

into laughter

and even more sublime.....

into love.

-saiom shriver-

New adventures.

What to say; I'm starting my new life with shine and smiles,

I never felt so alive than I do right now bouncing like a child,

The dread that follows me; too afraid to hurt cause I will tell,

I will have to move on even without people I count on, oh well.

Positive things are so much healthier than dark trails,

I feel lightning striking threw my fingers; I'm ready to embrace this old world,

Ready to bring my power out; I hope I do more good damage than I think, HAIL,

Reasons of respect flow, but when it comes to right and wrong I'm never perfect, a great fail.

People love me for who I am yet I hurt myself more than others; I'm tired of being me,

Reaching my goals day by day; I love who I am inside just wish people understood me thoroughly,

What I want is something so special yet how do you make family realize its for the best; roughly,

I'll never be the dull bulb that dies early; I break rules, dance like I'm 15, Love like theres no tomorrow.

I want approval yet I don't care what you say I just want to leave,

I'll leave marks of course; don't be hard on me I have feelings too; even when I'm rebellious,

Sometimes I wish there was nothing but simplicity; we all know thats not real,

All problems come with feelings; only we reach for the good ones that sometimes don't follow; at least I shine like medallions.

All the love, hate, pitty, sorrow, wonderful, exciting, and exotic things I've experienced before don't compare,

This amazing trip I'm planning; call it long but romantic, and sorta like a family reunion; even friends are family,

Never say never I hear; even though Never say Never came true, haha, I fought hard for what I believe in now and then; life seems fair,

Life feels like a huge adventure you never run out of time till your old; no ties and no rules as long as you live that way though rules always apply,

We never run out of things to say; our beliefs come into play so I guess rules apply. Just don't let people bend your fate, rules are yours as supply.

Laughter can't be perscribed by a physician

yet alliviates every affliction.

Converts darkness into light

shows the stars on the cloudiest of nights.

It's the silver lining holding everything together

stopping our souls from straying into the nether.

Freeing our spirits of negative feelings

connecting us with our fellow human beings.

It's what makes memories memorable

and assures nothing is irreparable.

Through laughter, life is given meaning

adding spice to being and breathing.

As the adage goes; all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy;

Unleash laughter, escape from the routine, relax and enjoy.

Best Friends Are Like Stars

Best friends are like stars on a cloudy night
you may not see them but you know they are always there
through thick or thin their  friendship will always shine bright

You both can share the times of laughter and the times of sorrow
and those little secrets shared are safe and kept forever
there’s never a doubt each of you will be there come tomorrow

Even if life’s path changes along the way and one  moves away
distance and time can  never change the bond between best friends
that truly special friendship in each others heart is there to stay
