a slow growing thing:   A long time in the works, indeed. Sometimes it happens that way.

Spinoza commented on: To bring some joy to earth by Spinoza 8 weeks 2 days ago
Keep it like a treasure:   In the course of life there are many things we discard. Hope should never be one of them.

hope, always keep hope:   As gloomy as the world may seem at times in the way it’s going, Hope is an important thing.

you said it all: just nature taking its course… you said it all, right there.

Spinoza commented on: WHY I LOVE TO WALK IN NATURE by joy 8 weeks 2 days ago
All of Creation is majestic:   I love Nature for the very same reasons… for its spiritualness… for its lessons… for its beauty… and for the peace it gives to one’s soul. From the forests… to the seas… to the mountains… to the canopy of stars above, all of Creation is majestic.

Thank you.  I really: Thank you.  I really appreciate your validation of this poem.  When I write in this form, I try to make some of the lines sound like overheard statements without an accompanying context.  During my first real summer job, I worked for the County as a gopher on a survey crew.  On Fridays, we only worked until lunch time, spending the remaining four hours visiting various bars in different parts of the county.  I could not, of course, consume alchohol, so I drank more iced tea that sumer than I ever had before (confirming, or perhaps establishing, a lifelong personal compulsion to consume iced tea), and I also heard snippets of conversations, from other bar patrons, without very much context.  I began to love this kind of "overheard," not for the sake of being nosey, but of just hearing the language doing different things.  The next summer (during which I held the same job, but by that time we were monitored too closely to visit bars on Friday afternoons),  I had the same experience on the c.b., when me and my best friend, mobile on weekend nights, would "drive into range" of some very distant conversations, and would overheard some of the words without an accompanying context.  Sorry for the verbosity of my reply.

Stunning intricacy of thought: Stunning intricacy of thought and some phenomenal analogies explore the unrealistic hope of a utopia in our lifetime. The imagined fantastical future was constructed with your usual dexterity. Can never get enough of that!   Another showcase for your far-reaching imagination, fine Poet.

What a brilliant strategy:: What a brilliant strategy: turning an enchanting childhood memory into a metaphor for unsinkable hope and an inspiring dream for humanity as a whole.   You accomplished so much, artistically, emotionally and philosophically, in this delicately woven treasure.   "But we were young and new and undaunted Bulging at the seams full tilt with wild dreams   Hoping to crack the vaulted canopy of heaven"   Have to read that again: just too good to enjoy once and move on.

Yes, things went off the: Yes, things went off the rails with "for your age",  but the speaker recovered . . . like a pro one might say.  No ego trip, no shouting match, just nature taking its course.   Enjoyed this playful, straight-shooting slice of life.

I slept with despair too..: I slept with despair too.  Many years ago, I slept with despair of girls I picked up in a bar. Two sisters. Wow! It was incredible! I'll never forget it! Oh, I liked your poem, by the way.
