She Told Me

She told me that she didn't know

anymore what I thought we knew.

She told me she was thinking still

of where to go and what to do.

She told me that she loved me still

yet she thought it best she go.

She told me that she always would

but in her eyes it didn't show.

She left, and there I stood alone

as she swore I'd never be.

She left, and there I stood alone,

lost at home with her memory.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is based on a conversation had on Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend of this year. It is raw and painful and I don't know what to do.

Beautiful

Very nice writing. And can completely relate to the feelings you are describing.

Good writing .. keep 'em coming

Very good, I can relate...

Here's what I got from reading it .. don't take it the wrong it is not made to offend ..just flowed out after reading your writing.

How quickly we fall in and out of lust

yet the heart break feels new everytime

She told you that she loved you

but inside she wasn't in love with you

she was in love with the fantasy of being in love.

She knew all along

And you knew it too

That she would walk away

Why did it seem so hard to stop her?

Memories of her are sweet

but they were never meant to be

Don't stand there so lonely

Don't wait on her to realize her mistake

Anger and sadness mix

Because now it all seems like lies

Taking a deep breath and one step at a time

Live your life

Don't linger in the memories of the past

I know these things are easier said than done

Scars may remain but the heart will mend with time.
