Happiness

Happy

I never saw it coming,

I never gave it thought.

How funny life's becoming,

With all the times we've fought.

It's suddenly so different,

We're not the kids we were.

It's not that we're much older,

I think we're just more sure.

We've got much more in common,

We've both got much more time.

We've learned to stop the drama,

My poems don't need to rhyme.

We've learned to give much better,

We've learned to take much less.

We've learned to stop pretending,

We've learned how to confess.

Now, maybe I'm mistaken,

Or maybe just plain wrong.

New problems may awaken,

But we've still got our song.

It's not that this is perfect,

And, it may never be.

But, still it seems fantastic,

Cuz it's just you and me.

"About Freakin Time"

Folder:
Happy

Problems in my life there will be, but still I can't despair.

Not quite sure what's wrong with me, but QUITE sure I don't care.

Life is just filled with ups and downs, but they'll all come to pass.

Tired of how I always drown, fall in a burning crash.

Life is only what I make it, no more and nothing less.

Now I finally can take it, can finally pass the test.

Just relax and I can be me, this ain't quite so hard.

Just how great this life can be, see? Just don't get too far.

Fairy Life

With painted wings

and glistening eyes

the prance around

amidst the lies

Gentle smiles

lifted dreams

binded with

silver seams

All the while

love burns on

through the night

though it's long

In their hearts

happiness sings

joy screams out

Hope Rings!

this poem is very old...sorry if you think it sucks....

This is a Reminder

This is a reminder of happier times

That you might look back and know what’s lost

To be forgotten is to be no more

This is a signal to stop digging graves

This is a reminder of happier times

Six feet down is an awful long way

Dig such a hole now, you will never get out

This is a reminder of happier times

A skating (haiku?...)

The death of an invisible figure born from within,

fear gone.

Inimaginable freedom, a psychopathic feeling of invulnerability,

the flow.

Super-hero like abilities, friction, friend or foe?

defy gravity! falling, falling, falling, a shotgun blast into the ground.

Amazing strength.

statue-like precision, the deadly clanking of a rail.

Concentration

Author's Notes/Comments:

heh. I said skate 0 times woooo!

* Poems To Joy, Cheer, Ecstasy

LINEAR WILL, SPHERICAL FRUIT

LINEAR WILL, SPHERICAL FRUIT

Joy surrounds focus

as apple blooms a tree trunk

or a cloud, forked lightning

as music immerses a baton

or the receiving sea

hides the roving river

(to Jan's friend Pat)

BURSTING BLOOMS OF BLUEBONNET

Bursting blooms of bluebonnet

to the sun sing silent sonnets

while yonder flute of

beetlebored bamboo ...

the wind plays upon it

BEES AMBULATE THROUGH AMBER

Bees randomly ambulate

through the blooms' amber

gates

NIGHTINGALE ON A PHONE WIRE

A nightingale

.. her song heard in

all directions

.. while peacetalk ran

through the phone wires

on which she perched

GEYSER FALLS

The several waterfall

geysers

arise out of

flat grey stone

.. and transport

some who view them

in Spirit

to

Yellowstone

(sparked by the

geyser waterfalls

in River Park,

Cuyahoga Falls)

CHERUBIM CHEER

Aided is the sun's chariot

by rain and cherubim

as he fills with swelling cheer

each orange and crimson cherry

SUNSHINE

Sum's laugh

becomes

the new life

in each leaf

GRIEVING WINTER

The happy croci

of spring

are to winter

as unconscious visitors

of cheer

are to a funeral

griever

ALLELUIA

You are the ring

of the hands of caring

You are the sing

of the bright sun rising

You are the king

of all hearts waking

You are the wing

of songs most flowing

You are the lia

of Alleluia

LOOKING UP

A joyful chorus

of a birdflock

caused us up

to look

and we saw at the

very top

of a very tall

fir tree

clusters of pine cones

.. like a genius

That wonderful Friday afternoon

Folder:
2002

The child in me

(or the child that is me)

runs, excited, out into the first snow of the season.

She laughs delightedly

as her lashes blink away snowflakes

and the snow whirls around her,

unaware of the stillness it's dancing whirling is giving her,

inside.
