LINEAR WILL, SPHERICAL FRUIT



Joy surrounds focus

as apple blooms a tree trunk

or a cloud, forked lightning

as music immerses a baton

or the receiving sea

hides the roving river

BURSTING BLOOMS OF BLUEBONNET



Bursting blooms of bluebonnet

to the sun sing silent sonnets

while yonder flute of

beetlebored bamboo ...

the wind plays upon it





BEES AMBULATE THROUGH AMBER



Bees randomly ambulate

through the blooms' amber

gates





NIGHTINGALE ON A PHONE WIRE



A nightingale

.. her song heard in

all directions

.. while peacetalk ran

through the phone wires

on which she perched





GEYSER FALLS



The several waterfall

geysers

arise out of

flat grey stone

.. and transport

some who view them

in Spirit

to

Yellowstone

CHERUBIM CHEER



Aided is the sun's chariot

by rain and cherubim

as he fills with swelling cheer

each orange and crimson cherry



SUNSHINE



Sum's laugh

becomes

the new life

in each leaf

The happy croci

of spring

are to winter

as unconscious visitors

of cheer

are to a funeral

You are the ring

of the hands of caring

You are the sing

LOOKING UP



A joyful chorus

of a birdflock

caused us up

to look



and we saw at the

very top

of a very tall

fir tree

clusters of pine cones

.. like a genius

ready to give his

mind's gifts to all



NONGRANITE POMEGRANATE





Perhaps the olivebranch

and the peacepeach

have hard stone pits

guarding their seed fire



but there is no cold

seed of granite

in the ruby gems

of the pomegranate





WHEN I'M SAD



When I'm sad...



some walk..or run

or listen

to music..

or talk to someone

.. or write out feelings..

or go to a 123 step meeting

or meditate.. do a new yoga

exercise..



LAUGHTER



God's daughters

did not want laughter

to rhyme

with slaughter..

since from God

comes laughter

and from butchers

comes slaughter.

NOT A THRONE OF THORNS



Your home

is not a throne

of thorns..

you were made for

joy



FLOCK TO FRUIT



A flock of blackbirds

came to a peachtree

.. each orange orb

mated to a different

bird

as each soul

to a different

angel guardian.



BELLS OF COCKLESHELLS



The Wind

silently rings

the bells of

cockleshells







CAVES OF JOY



only time determines when

we enter our own

inner and infinite

caves of joy



CLOTHESLINE EXCLAMATIONS



On a March clothesline

.. transparent icicles in a row

in the bright sun

they drip and glow

.. each exulting in the light



   .. .. at the end of each melting dagger

   a watery globe..



   they say.. this silent xylophone

with their quiet exclamations

a row of icicle daggers

melt

and turn to nursing

watergivers

drops slide down

the obelisks and

in the sun they become

bubbling christmas lights



the xylophone of crystal

is disappearing



they are a row

Where the outgoing

delta wide

meets the incoming

salty sea tide

the visible eddies

portray the ecstasy

of the river

From Northern skies

one cannot the Southern

Cross spy

but joy

The moonlight's silver

comes not from

the sylvan

through

which she slips

Some must be coconuts

by hard knocks shelled

but most are bananas

.. in joy they are peeled

As April snows

Saturn did freeze

her flow

but in the evening

glow

the melted water

was a pinkish rose

Dog urinates

on fire hydrant

.. a karmic return

As their voices

are one in sound

so the choir's uniforms

they act as one,

a seaside symphony.

Bee-cloven fields of clover

delight in their sun lover

for cloudclad skies have

rained away

and they feel him now oerhover

Songs came swiftly to Beethoven







ACORN TOSSED HIS TAM



The acorn tossed off his tam

and exulted in the wind on his crown

.. after he'd been wafted to

earth

by the currents of gentle air.



He noticed that his mother

tree's above ground roots

made a multibranched star.



And the beaded dew

was necklaced

by a stem of grass...



UPON THE SEA OF THE PEOPLE



Upon the sea of the people

does the ruling junta float..

a tiny little autocratic boat..

let it not be unaware

of its illegitimate course



STOP THE COMBINES



Turn the swords into

plowshares and the

plowshares into

gentle harvesting..

that no combine

mowing down column lines

harm the sapling trees

with faithful concubines..

vegetarian

by God

CLEANSING



Rivers of joy

flow through the mind's

Augean stables

sweeping out all

that is not of joy



SENSITIVE ELEPHANT



There was a sensitive

elephant.. so upset

about his tread causing

death to bugs and sapling

trees... that he decided

to do away with himself

for the sake of all sentient

beings..



but word of this got around..

and all who loved him..

built a sanctuary..

in which he happily stays



When he wants to travel

he is helicoptered

to sandy beaches

or desert savannas



DIFFERENT RAINBOW



A rainbow of saffron, lemon,

aqua, lavender,

and pink hue

.. never fails to lift

my spirits

when I'm blue

a refracted array

of the sun's rays

... ceramic pastels

... help me walk... past hells

With their blaze

they do ignite

and use delight

From her bounty plumbless

Divine Mother is plumpkin

the round pumpkins

and purpling the plums

When they're ready they'll fall

we need not pluck them

As dawn beams spill

oer window sill

and each buttercup

angels dewfill,

out of the still

a sudden birdtrill

and its counterpoint

woodpecker drill

renew the will

through attuning thrill

Stars

above & their twinkles

and their mirror

image.. ground periwinkle

.. do not sparkle

as much as J's smile

as it breaks through

her cheek crinkles

do shreds and rags

turn by the wind

into cheery flags.

Birds delight in

the branches of a dead

tree on which to rest

...dead sticks with which

to build a nest.

Their throats with notes stream

at the very first gleam

of the rising sun

with his train of beams

as above earth's muck

they look up

and take wing.



NATURE DIVINIZES ALL



Winter's muffling snow

covers all with purity.

His ice turns even metal

junkyards

into jewel covered sculptures.

Summer covers trashpiles

with jade vines.

Daily the sun bathes all

  in sacred light, but is

most beautiful in the hour

before and after sunset.



SUDDEN BLOOMING



Orange sails blossom

on junkets in the China Sea's

garden.

Daisies set up their tents

for the festival of spring.

Umbrellas bloom to protect

those not ready for the mercy

  of the rain.



NO GRAY HOLE



the colon turns

orange mangos and yellow lemons,

green limes and purple grapes

into the color of waste. Some people

can walk into a rainbow filled room

and turn everything gray.







JOY



She no longer feels sad that her body is bound by gravity .. as she

wings the hearts of millions.

Spring willow streamers... the tree cheerleads the birds in branch

bleachers

Into shards the dreams have shattered.. the pain

in the dream... has not mattered.

From the chalice of his heart I drink love and joy. It is

the only draught which quenches my soulthirst.

The sight of him! long needles of light knit.. of a sudden

weaving wings for my heart!

*

As the pure bright mirror transmits the morning sun

we need not understand God.. but only pass God on

*

The morning birds' melodies.. the woodpecker does counterpoint

How is it that his ceaseless drill... shatters the barriers to

peace?

A beetlebored bamboo flute.. Yonder wind plays upon it

Around the corner from the flesh food coroners,

August field's coronation of a cornucopia of corn

*

The touchdown points of the rainbow are obscured

by grey fog, but as blue and sun appear, the fog has been

absorbed.. into new figs.

Laundry dances in the wind on the clothesline... empty scarecrows...of whom no bird is frightened

*

The curvenecked clover lamps hang oer a London sidewalk's cobbles shedding purple light in their wee world

*

Spring rains raise the wells

Every one does upwell

.. merging as they overspill

A new joy river they do swell.

*

Saddened by the plaintive sounds of the mourning dove,

he decided to be silent or cheerful when he spoke.

*

Feared lightning became the silver lining

of the cloud of good change.

*

Water spiders, skaters ..gliders, blissdarting shooting stars without

external guiders

*

October when each leaf is a stained glass aperture

in the cathedrol of autumnal light

*

Squirrels spiral up the church spires

and down again to the spirea

*

Alighting and taking off from the tiger lilies and phlox and

sunflowers are hummingbirds and butterflies and bees,

with no air controllers and no accidents.

*

Sunwands turn rain droplets into blackberry drupelets as enkindled

okra seeds acknowledge heliocracy.

*

White morning glories translucent in the sun..bloom fabric

stretched on its ribs like Japanese

rice paper lanterns shining with light

*

The fields are filled with crystal balls of morning dew,

each revealing your destiny: the morning sun

*

As a shaft of light sweeps down a sootfilled chimney

is God's delight available to all.

*

When the couple midnight swam in the quarry,

waving were the skies' reflections starry.***

*

The ice sculpture fish has melted into his waters of completion.

*

Melted the ice sculpture quince.. and flowed into

roots.. swelling new quince. Melted the ice sculpture

of the prince..  and for the bees flowed into meadow footprints

*
