Sad news from Texas, just a few hours ago; my first cousin (60) died suddenly, her brother, my other cousin, having passed 30 years ago after returning home from serving in the Gulf War. The last time we were in a room together was in 1978 a few days before they left for Austin. Part of me has shrivelled away. Sorry to bother. [ go to comment ]

A fortnight can be hell and that half of half as long... we try to farm ourselves out every several days to make it easier for all concerned, whether staying over or hosting. Most people nowadays don't have the stomach or the roots for longer stays anyways. But that's just me. Thanks for sharing [ go to comment ]
