Solar Eclipse

I allowed the darkness
to block out the light.

I let my shadows
obscure my shine.

I permitted misery
to pervade hope.

But once the blinders fell,
my outlook shifted.

I created my own chaos-
hindsight is 20-20.

And then I let the sun
radiate through me.

It was powerful enough
to cover past failures.

In this poem, you demonstrate

In this poem, you demonstrate the truth and poetic skill that are represented by your screen name, Metaphorist, and you also provide a sense of hope that will continue to provide both light and warmth, like stars do, now that you have set it forth.  This poem is also like the Biblical metaphor of bread cast upon the waters:  it will return to you, and will become a blessing to you because you have constructed it to be a blessing to others.  This is one of the chief reasons I admire your Poetry (even though I have fallen behind in my reading, due to my situation; for which I apologize); this is also a chief reason why you are one of the pillars of this website.
