So many women my age are throwing their lives away. So many are unwed uncaring mothers. So many are dependant on worthless men to feel whole. Even more are so caught up in society, they've lost sight of the fact that are still human. I weep for these women, it is a sad thing when you are never taught how to cope.

Tried to use the format to reinforce the word pictures.  Use your imagination and perhaps you'll see the path the water takes through the words.

I was walking through Bushnell Park in Hartford, CT in the late sixties... the era of the hippie... when I wrote this. I had just returned to civilian life after a 20 year career in the USAF and my feelings regarding  flower-children at that time were less than kind.

Mind games and playing tricks are childish when you're supposed to be a man (or woman) fully grown.  There is bound to come a time when discovery is inevitable.  There's an all-seeing eye watching you.

I live in a small town...

You may have to read it aloud twice to understand where I was coming from with this.

Excuse the language.  Don't want to offend anyone just wanted to send a message.

This poem has kept me awake for the last 2 nights so I figure I had better get it off my chest so I could sleep.
