Starward commented on: ‘til all my breath is you by redbrick 2 years 9 weeks ago
I, too, applaud the title,: I, too, applaud the title, and the penultimate line---which are both delightfully suggestive.  The poem is, as customary in the work of this Poet, skillfully wrought, and the short lines give it a compelling energy that continues to resonate even after the final line.

Your un-poems are a thousand: Your un-poems are a thousand poems in one. Delightful possibilities! Enjoyed revisiting this one.

What's admirable is the way: What's admirable is the way you turned your greatest hits into poetic gold. My heartfelt gratitude for your kind words.

Starward commented on: Acrostic(my broken heart) by oh_so_odd 2 years 9 weeks ago
Acrostics are, in my opinion,: Acrostics are, in my opinion, a very difficult form.  The very first poem I ever wrote, when I began in October, 1975, was an acrostic, and not a success whatsoever.  I applaud the success you have here.

Starward commented on: A Tale From My Adolescent Work Experience In 1977 by J4nu4r14n 2 years 9 weeks ago
Thank you, Sir.  I was really: Thank you, Sir.  I was really not particularly aggravated by the lecture I received from him about my clock-in time.  His meeting with the Chief Surveyor and my father was rather unpleasant for him, according to what my father told me later.  And that, in itself, would have settled the issue for me.  But leading one of my friends down the fast track to addiction . . . that was unacceptible and called for further action.

I am sixty-four.  My First: I am sixty-four.  My First Beloved will be sixty-four in November.  Yet, the intervening forty-six years since our special summer together seems no more than three quarters of an hour spent in a busy waiting room.

What a harrowing workplace: What a harrowing workplace experience and one that totally resonates with me. That is so sad that this is prevalent in every nation and firm and creed. Thank you for sharing this painful memory, if only to serve as an example of how there is injustice on a personal level as well as comeuppance when it swings by.

Thank you Starward for: Thank you Starward for pointing that out about the metaphor. Yet, as I am sure there are other better examples of poetry to study am also grateful to you for your confidence that this poem should be studied by students of poetry. Most gratefully yours.

I understand that, Don was a: I understand that, Don was a young man in his early twenties, he is now much, much older 76 next week, but age matters not at all. I see the man I've always loved and he's perfect. sue.

Yes, and despite the ravages: Yes, and despite the ravages of age, the beauty and desirability that I experienced in 1976 is still present.  But neither of us can now act upon it.

Teytonon commented on: A-holes by Teytonon 2 years 9 weeks ago
I agree : Wasn't it one of our greatest Presidents, Abraham Lincoln, who said 'Some people are a-holes some of the time, and some people are a-holes all of the time, but you can't have a-holes that are a-holes all of the time'. Wait, that's not right. Isn't he contradicting what he just said? What an a-hole.

Crumble inward: I've been beating myself up inside a lot recently. Tough situations but glancing back at them they arent that bad...except getting bit by a snake July 1 That was bad. Breaking up with a guy, same guy, redundant...and household maintence disasters solved But over and done. Everyone has troubles, mine just tumbled together and I got sad. Now, I just sigh and say, "and the hits keep on coming..." referencing a Hit Song Billboard announcer! :)  Your reviews of my work are so elegant they are poetry themselves. Thanks again.

Thanks: They are fun! I did another! I did it first time cuz I was filled with a muse but nothing to say but a hand that needed to fill a page. Then it became fun to write an un-poem or placard poem.Songwriters do that with lyrics I thought perhaps i could as well. Thanks for the visit.
