Omg: He was a comedian in 2018. 2019 he gets elected, the following year he joins Nato partnership programe ,that which was not necessary. He knows his country is close to Russia but he does that*. Later, there's war in the country, for which he should be blamed. You call him a hero. Crimea was annexed for a reason, (good or bad). Looking at things right now, i don't think Russia has made a bad move. There's one thing Zelensky should learn from Belarusian Lukashenko - that, there's what we call neighbours. Not only* neighbours but neighbours they we're Ussr with. Nato is nothing, always will be a "foreigner". I love dictators because they keep a country "together", they preserve it.Also keep their neighbours safe. See what happens when you elect comedians? I heard that kanye west wanted to be elected -- do it, you might experience something worse.
I thank you for the kind: I thank you for the kind reply. As I have said since I began reading your Poetry, the posting of a new poem from you is an event, as you continue to construct and expand that "total edifice of total grandeur" (as Pop Stevens would call it). I love watching this process, and my comments and enthusiasm arise from the privilege of reading your wonderful Poetry.
Thank you so very much. : Thank you so very much. Sometimes I am still haunted by that debacle, even after forty-five years. It became the line of demarcation that separated time into the past to which I could not return, and the present that did not, back then, seem very conducive to people like me. It still haunts me once in a while, and from such hauntings poems like this issue forth, so I write them down.
I am so very grateful that you commented on this one. Your validating words make me feel better about the poem. Thank you for reading and commentong.
Dear kind and gifted Poet:: Dear kind and gifted Poet: Just having you stop by is a great honor, and to receive an accurate, eloquent and perceptive comment by you is a prized gift. Thank you so much for brightening my day with your wisdom and insight.
I don’t believe I’ve ever: I don’t believe I’ve ever received feedback from you that wasn’t charged with enthusiasm and intricate comprehension of my every intention. Your understanding of my stylistic choices and the reasoning behind them and the way you seamlessly connected the thoughts was particularly gratifying in this case.
Thank you for the reassurance! I’m also grateful that you affirmed my nonnegotiable opinion that clarity and accessibility are, at least for me, the shortest distance between language and a higher concept. What good is an ornate word maze if people are stumbling around in it?
And no extravagant word web could ever express how valuable your vast storehouse of knowledge, poetic acumen, astute evaluations and validation have been to me. There is no greater satisfaction, as a creative writer, to be read and appreciated by someone who seems to have been created for poetry.
There is no end to my gratitude. God bless your own poetic endeavors and every aspect of your life.
I always thought the: I always thought the description "instant classic" was an oxymoron, but the word that instantly beamed in my mind as I read this impeccable gem was "classic". You struck gold and it deserves a place in a pantheon of immortal poems. I mean that.
Congratulations on this.
Amazing! The sumptuous: Amazing! The sumptuous pleasure of it; the serpentine flow of brilliantly assembled lines; the build up to that heart-melting finale. Just . . . Wow! Signature crypticbard. It's always a pleasure.
