We Need to be Broken

Folder:

Crashing and burning

is sometimes a godsend;

you can rise above the ashes

becoming a new creation.

It's much better to be

flawlessly disappointed

than fall headlong for

the illusion of perfection.

Truth exposes our wounds

and reveals time is

nothing more than a salve-

soothing rather than healing.

Sometimes what we really

need is to be broken

to the point of no return,

left a shell of ourselves.

Then from those fragments,

we can find true restoration

as we admit our failures

and accept our own fragility.
