President Zelensky
A hero to many
For refusing
To run from conflict
Or flee
His country
In the face of war
Put up with this bullshit
That is killing his
Citizens
Hell no
Not going to happen
Comedian
Turned politician
He isn't the hero
We saw coming
But dammit society
He is the hero
We all need
Fearless
With a resiliency
That would make
Anybody jealous
sending messages
To his people daily
It is easy to see
To his people
The message is clear
You fight
I fight
Giving up
On each other
Or our country
Is not an option
We will win this war
And we will do so
Together
Omg
He was a comedian in 2018. 2019 he gets elected, the following year he joins Nato partnership programe ,that which was not necessary. He knows his country is close to Russia but he does that*. Later, there's war in the country, for which he should be blamed. You call him a hero. Crimea was annexed for a reason, (good or bad). Looking at things right now, i don't think Russia has made a bad move. There's one thing Zelensky should learn from Belarusian Lukashenko - that, there's what we call neighbours. Not only* neighbours but neighbours they we're Ussr with. Nato is nothing, always will be a "foreigner". I love dictators because they keep a country "together", they preserve it.Also keep their neighbours safe. See what happens when you elect comedians? I heard that kanye west wanted to be elected -- do it, you might experience something worse.
Propaganda is an artform, Zelensky is an artist
You may not know this, but "Glory to Ukraine", which his adminstration chose to popularize as the latest portion of this nearly decade-long conflict exploded, is a phrase revived by the C14 and Azov battalion, both of which took it from the Holocaust-assisting OUN-B during WW2. OUN-B was a Ukrainian nationalist force that massacred jews and gypsies during 1941 on behalf of the Nazi's. Stepan Bandera, the leader of this force, is the "forefather" and "hero figure" of the Azov battalion and the C14, and these forces make up more than 10 percent of the Ukrainian military. Putin (and his handlers) is surely a propagandist, but on the "neo-nazi" claims he may be overstating but is not lying. Even a broken clock is right sometimes.
Zelensky was also installed by a billionaire who owned the largest station in Ukraine and gave him constant news coverage (like the media did with Trump in 2015-2016). He is no neo-nazi (and, ironically enough, is jewish), but on behalf of his donors, Zelensky essentially made a deal with the devil after the CIA and NATO began giving weapons to the Azov battalion, C14, and a third neo-nazi group (whose name I cannot recall at this moment).
Zelensky, more recently, has banned all opposition media in the Ukraine, and a lot of people have been arrested without trial (think Guantanamo). As in all cases, some are likely guilty, but surely more than a few are not.
What I'm saying is, there's no good guys here. We've been pushed to feverish Cold War-level hatred of the Russians for more than half a decade now, not coincidentally aligning with the time period where Ukraine discovered massive natural gas reserves deep underneath their soil, which only thanks to more recent technology can be exploited. Suddenly, both Russia and the U.S./NATO had a huge amount of interest in reshaping Ukraine. Both sides attempted to fund puppet governments - our investments won out. We moved weapons into the area, Russia responded by taking Crimea, and the rest is history.
I would say that we all need to back down from cheerleading this, honestly, for many reasons but most of all because poor people around the whole world are going to suffer emmensely from what has turned into a destructive economic game, with the U.S., EU, Russia and Ukraine all cutting off supplies from each other. Mass starvation is emminent. I don't know what the prices look like in your grocery story, but in my town, they are up 20-40% in just the last 3 weeks. It's going to get much, much worse. Some of us can't afford it here. I can only imagine what it's like for those sanctioned in Russia, cut off in Ukraine, and worst of all for the billions of people in second and third world countries, who also get their supply chains cut off first when first world countries start coming up short. With Sars-Covi-2, more people have died from starvation due to policy than from the disease itself, and that number has continued to escalate. Now we're multiplying it with this unnecessary revival of cold war and cruel economic sanctions towards each others "every day people". No good guys, at all.

I adore a good patriot, but I look at Zelenskyy as the man who stands in front of the tank that does not stop. Calls to patriatism keep men in the country while millions flee. I'd teach grandma how to use a Kalashnakov and teach her blade and fire throwing. Ukraine - same syndrome, run. Eventualy - surrender or surrender and die will become Ukraine's options.

Sharia Law and would be emperors order deaths in huge numbers; they purge, they lay waste. They blow up children still in the womb. They are warriors. Life enders. They excute leaders of vulnerable countries, use poisons, or threaten germ warfare. Russia's patriots march at conditioned propaganda gun point, ultimately. The shelves in Russia empty. That's all we've got. That is all we dare.

Mr. Z is Courage personified, but fuckin' Russia as enemy all around him means flee or martyrdom. Xi of China is watching closely for his cue from Vlad to move on Taiwan & Hong Kong. China may hesitate - more miuths to feed. Timing: Covid-19 vaccine for many countries cost a few pennies, climate shift and reusable energy has an enormous almost unending pricetag. A war with three Roman Numerals attached? Now? Nope.

Putin's plan is to take back the Bulkans, then move to the Eastern theatre, to regain old empire territories. He did not, and does not think THE WEST a threat to his plans while he holds his thumb on North Korea's nuclear fissionables. Israel is mediating - that's just ironic.

Zal is brave, but compared to Russia against Hitler (and Napoleon) only nukes will burn Moscow or Russian cities. That's the fork in the road of history that has usa arrested with indecision. We will rebuild faster, free usa uk eu of gas/oil dependence, create a new definition of independence, while enemies take what they want. eu is building up their military capabilities and, in debt, usa will gladly provide the tech and steel.

Good partiotic shout out to Ukraine's leader. I have written his country a few marching into missiles and rocket launched ordinance poems. I doubt any of them will ever read them. This is a no-win.
