Thank you very much. That: Thank you very much. That line did not initially come to me. I felt there was something more I wanted to add to convey meaning, but couldn't put a finger on it or find the words. But (as often happens when I write), immediately after posting it and reviewing the copy, it came to me. It felt right, instantly, so I am happy to find those words well-received by you.

lyrycsyntyme commented on: President Zelensky by LittleLennonGurl 2 years 30 weeks ago
Propaganda is an artform, Zelensky is an artist: You may not know this, but "Glory to Ukraine", which his adminstration chose to popularize as the latest portion of this nearly decade-long conflict exploded, is a phrase revived by the C14 and Azov battalion, both of which took it from the Holocaust-assisting OUN-B during WW2. OUN-B was a Ukrainian nationalist force that massacred jews and gypsies during 1941 on behalf of the Nazi's. Stepan Bandera, the leader of this force, is the "forefather" and "hero figure" of the Azov battalion and the C14, and these forces make up more than 10 percent of the Ukrainian military. Putin (and his handlers) is surely a propagandist, but on the "neo-nazi" claims he may be overstating but is not lying. Even a broken clock is right sometimes.   Zelensky was also installed by a billionaire who owned the largest station in Ukraine and gave him constant news coverage (like the media did with Trump in 2015-2016). He is no neo-nazi (and, ironically enough, is jewish), but on behalf of his donors, Zelensky essentially made a deal with the devil after the CIA and NATO began giving weapons to the Azov battalion, C14, and a third neo-nazi group (whose name I cannot recall at this moment).   Zelensky, more recently, has banned all opposition media in the Ukraine, and a lot of people have been arrested without trial (think Guantanamo). As in all cases, some are likely guilty, but surely more than a few are not.   What I'm saying is, there's no good guys here. We've been pushed to feverish Cold War-level hatred of the Russians for more than half a decade now, not coincidentally aligning with the time period where Ukraine discovered massive natural gas reserves deep underneath their soil, which only thanks to more recent technology can be exploited. Suddenly, both Russia and the U.S./NATO had a huge amount of interest in reshaping Ukraine. Both sides attempted to fund puppet governments - our investments won out. We moved weapons into the area, Russia responded by taking Crimea, and the rest is history.   I would say that we all need to back down from cheerleading this, honestly, for many reasons but most of all because poor people around the whole world are going to suffer emmensely from what has turned into a destructive economic game, with the U.S., EU, Russia and Ukraine all cutting off supplies from each other. Mass starvation is emminent. I don't know what the prices look like in your grocery story, but in my town, they are up 20-40% in just the last 3 weeks. It's going to get much, much worse. Some of us can't afford it here. I can only imagine what it's like for those sanctioned in Russia, cut off in Ukraine, and worst of all for the billions of people in second and third world countries, who also get their supply chains cut off first when first world countries start coming up short. With Sars-Covi-2, more people have died from starvation due to policy than from the disease itself, and that number has continued to escalate. Now we're multiplying it with this unnecessary revival of cold war and cruel economic sanctions towards each others "every day people". No good guys, at all.

Thank you. This was: Thank you. This was definitely written in that space overlapping both poetry and song lyrics.   Sestinas are very musical. Somehow, I had not previously known of them before your mention. Looks like a very good exercise. It'd probably be fun to try my hand at them.

lyrycsyntyme commented on: SOME DEATHS TAKE FOREVER by georgeschaefer 2 years 30 weeks ago
My new favorite of yours: Of what I am provoked to feel in reading this, there's not a lot of which I can churn into words right now, except to say that I cherish the sentiments held within. Craftwise, the way you had put this to pen allows the words to move and march on in the manner that's lockstep with their meaning. Marching, of course, to the tune of a different drummer than most ears here. Really fine, and definitely my new favorite.

Sadly,: each day, indeed, it does. I think the rate of loss of humanity has been expedited not just by the events of the last 2+ years, but also with the fact that smart phones have taken over most people's lives.

Let Us Pray: . . . WWIII does not end us. "Welcome to how we got here" is a great line! I believe his generals wiuld shoot him if he gave the irders to launch nukes. Generals and despots have ages old power division disputes. A military coup d'etat in Russia may save us from nuclear holocaust. We watch. . ~Lady A~

Spinoza commented on: living in a kingdom of lies by Spinoza 2 years 31 weeks ago
The Rubicon has been Crossed: Uncensored debate is a criminal offense nowadays. The world has been approaching the Rubicon for some time. When it was crossed, I am not certain. But it was most certainly crossed, these last two years.
