Momma is the finest Christian lady I've ever met. Once about 6 years ago I called her to tell her I was on my way to see her (and Daddy). She said that she was going to the Curb Market but she would be back in plenty of time. When I got there she met me practically at the door and said, "Let's go to the Curb Market." I said, "I thought you..." She shushed me and pointed to the door. After all SHE IS STILL MOMMA. When we started up the road out of Daddy's hearing, I looked over at her and said, "OK, what's going on?" I will never forget what Momma said to me. She said, "This morning I went to the Curb Market and bought some onions. When I picked the bag up one had fallen out and I just stuck it in my pocket. When I got home and started putting the produce up, there wasn't a hole in the onion bag, so that's not my onion. I took it by mistake but it will still be stealing if I don't take it back to them." I didn't answer because tears were choking me. I simply drove her there and waited until she came back and got into the car. She looked at me and smiled. "Whew," she said. "I'll sleep tonight now." I thank God Almighty for Momma, and if some of the children I teach had mothers like mine, they would KNOW how to behave.
