i never understood  why you were always working

all i seen was my mom was gone

left with babysitters

left all alone

no one  but my brothers n me

i never understood why

you were always there when i was ill

so ill i was often  just to have my mom

as i grew and i needed you

i never understood why

i would  cry out but there was no answer

but as  i grew and had  kids of my own

i finally understood why

you see as my mom

you wanted the best for me

we missed out on alot

alot of material things

but  as i watch my own children grow

i realise

even though never understood why then

i do now

my mom...... my dear sweet mom

was always in my heart guiding me along

making sure  i grew to be me

and now as a mom myself

i take what she taught me and try to teach my own
