Afghanistan Ladies.

Pale blue robes cover head to toe,

Abody within, nothing must show,

A man with a cane lashing out,

No cry of pain,no angry shout.

"Men are disciplined, women are not,

This is the way they have to be taught"

Ladies in blue lashed by a cane,

I cry for you, and share your pain.

Author's Notes/Comments: 

After witnessing on Television, Ladies begging for food from a relief lorry,being lashed into line, when questioned by a reporter,  the man made this remark.lashing out

This reminds of a popular saying that goes, women are to be loved, not to be lashed..and being a woman, I say Amen to that..thank you for sharing..

Mr Lewis,
What a way to have to live... We are so lucky to have freedom that we do... why can't more people realize that...
It hurts to know these women have to live such a horrid life. I would give anything to be able to turn the tables on those who do the beatings for one day...

alcohol in many events, causing domestic battering
