I sat and watched clouds
gathering,
Taking on familiar faces,
I was taken back to
yesterday,
When as children, we played
together,
Running on the beach, gathering
shells for our collections.
Building castles in the sand,
Teasing each other about
tomorrow,
How quickly time passes.

Ah yes I can relate to this well and all could as long as they never lose their inner child. Though I live in Mass I grew up in N.Y. and remember cony island and Nathan's hotdogs, ferriswheels and general boardwalk by the beach. I remember the Long Island potatoe farms that now don't exist. I remember all the holiday rockett shows in NYC -wonderful memories....
A lovely poem of memories. Time sure does pass quickly. I enjoy the way you write.
Smile.. it is the cheapest facelift.
