A SEA OF GREEN

Folder:
A YOUNG POET

Have you ever stood on a
summer day?
Viewing the grass across
the way.
Blowing in the noonday
breeze,
Very inviting, so at ease.

Looking lovely, and serene,
Almost like a sea of green.
Stepping across to simply
see.
Is this an illusion, can it be?
Disappointed, when arriving,
there,
Ragweeds growing
everywhere.
Stepping back , knowing
what you've seen,
Surrounded by a sea
of green.

What a shame that the ragweeds spoiled the picture. I always love watching the wind playing over a sea of grass. I enjoyed these images.

Smile.. it is the cheapest facelift.

I see you like doing observational nature pieces like I do. I can relate to this one too. sad the ragweed amongst the green grass but part of nature's plan we can't do much about. still,it's nice to see the green grass sway in the wind. Did you know why Kentucky is called the bluegrass state? It's because in the early morning dew when sun hits the grass it has a blueish tinge.I know,I've been to Kentucky over the years. Traveled all of USA but my favorite state has to be Utah. Even the black top roads because of clay in soil look redish like the mountains in background. They have a lot of beautiful caverns to see as well..

I'm trying to remember......all I've seen this summer is a sea of rain.

Right.. and good.
This is a nice piece. You are leading to an expected conclusion but surprisingly a good one with the way it is treated, and well.. the color of it too. The picture is clear and depicting, with every line, the shades of the circle around.
