Cynan, addressed in the poem, is the Bardic name of the Reverend Albert E. Jones (1895-1970), who was (in my opinion) the greatest poet in Wales' Celtic tradition.

This poem was first posted in early June, 2004.  Although I am not the first to suggest that Joseph of Arimathea fled to Glastonbury earlier than the reign of Nero in Rome, I am (to the best of my knowledge) the first to suugest that his departure was a direct consequence of the murder of the Deacon, Saint Stephen. See Acts 8:1 for a description of the process.

The image of the three cousins, descendants of Joseph to the fourth generation, bathing in their pool, has been in my mind since 2004.

Love and aging. Sometimes one doesn't matter so long as you have the other.
