Television and movies: Television and movies recreate eras before we were even born and then we start to feel a sense of nostalgia for things we didn't actually lose.

My first encounter with the: My first encounter with the concept of menagerie was as a young schoolchild watching reruns of old black and white movies, this one with the title The Glass Menagerie (1950) and your poem corresponds quite neatly with its emotive qualities and the feel of it encapsules the enslavement that solidly ends the poem.

...false nostalgia is a real: ...false nostalgia is a real thing with me and if dissected could even be a stand-in kind of drug thing. Perhaps I'm just an old sentimental fool.

Starward commented on: Stormy will inform me by Teytonon 1 year 35 weeks ago
I hope the Justice System: I hope the Justice System will avail itself of the triple opportunity to disqualify the former occupant of the White House from ever holding office again, by convicting him criminally in New York on the "stormy" charges; in Georgia, on the intimidation of the Secretary of State and the solicitation of conspiratorial activity to "trump up" eleven thousand more votes; and, the worst of his actions, inciting insurrection at which injury and death were the effects, including terrorizing elected officials as they attempted to transact the Constitution's mandated actiion of certifying the election---in which We the People told him, "You're fired." They are telling me, now, that the recent bank failures can be traced back to his Administration's loosening and lessening of the solvency tests and regulations; and, in my state, the train wreck that released toxic waste into air, soil, and water was due to faulty breaks that were not maintained at code---due to his Administration's loosening and lessening of the safety regulations required of Class I railroads.  At least, this is what I am hearing.  Therefore, those who have the elective or appointive power, under applicable law, should move for a major lessening of that's man's opportunity to hold any office, and a loosening of his grip on his party, and on our future.  His book, The Art Of The Deal, should be shelved right next to another book on social change and government procedure, entitled Mein Kampf.

oh that is quite an exercise: oh that is quite an exercise in imagery! This reminds me of that guy who did Superman on the streets of Hollywood and now also the Joker which also had a drawing on the human and societal psyche that extends further from the imagination and the silver screen.
