Like Wallace Stevens,: Like Wallace Stevens, Patriciajj locates her poems' centers of gravity in various places, from poem to poem.  (Note to future grad students:  one of you might be able to write your disseration on a graph showing us the location of these centers.)  In this poem, it is the final twelve lines.  In this poem, we learn as well---for all of Patricia's poems having something about which to teach us---that patient fields might forgoet our names; that roses need us . . . while we are still breathing like humans.  For that is our role in the Universe, which can only, unassisted, dream of itself:  we are to interpret the Universe to itself, to validate its existence with our contemplation of that existence.  In ancient times, Poets named the stars, then constellated them into the characters and symbols of our stories.  Patricia, like those ancient Poets, does some of that in her poens; she also reminds us why it is important that patient fields do not forget our names, why it is good that roses still need us; and, while we take our human breath, we will also "hear /  a drizzle of music in the sun / or feel some unfiltered spiritlight kissing the air like /snow all around."     I must apologize for my delay in commenting.  I am hospitalized, having nearly bled to death internally fifteen days ago.  But when Patricia posts a poem it is, in my opinion, an EVENT on postpoems, and one which will not allow me to voluntarily postpone my response.  Patricia's poems speak cosmically; they take such a long, high view that the posting of each one is well worth setting aside any restrictions that obstruct in order to read or to comment---because she creates her poems at the highest and most ancient level of Poetry, the cosmic.

Enjoying the Spring that: Enjoying the Spring that "sprang in purple" myself. Thank you for reminding me of this expression. I remember how it felt like that winter would never end, but you got us thinking about defiant blossoms and satin breezes. Enjoy the day!

Respected Bishu Gentleman: I know there is no actual Santa - but sometimes I hear the phrase "Christmas came early". Believing, I do not have to explain why I'm on the floor with the kids with crayons coloring pictures of reindeer and the cat in red. That goes for Halloween too. There are witches. There Are! :D - muah! ~A~

Greed May Save Us: Let me see now, 40% (20 new tax 20 unpaid tax) of a trillion paid annually to Treasury Dept. Breaking up monopolies, prison time for buying Senators - yeah mere billionnaires and far fewer of them. I'm a dreamer. And being a dream, I dream big! ;D .

Laughing. I'm glad your idea: Laughing. I'm glad your idea is safely preserved in the Smithsonian with a chance of resurrection. I liked where that story was going.

Less Existential: More a hard reality; too many millions of refugees. Circlr tightening around Russians everywhere. Like hong kong brain drain, countries deprived of core intelligensia have little support infrastructure. Once ukrainians taste free society offerings, they may become permanent expatriots. Hong Kong is next for China to absorb. Then Taiwan.. 2-5 million fleeing Ukraine against 44 million population is a drop in the proverbial bucket. Note: numbers of Zelensky's reported casualties are very low or not given often. . Mass killing of old and young will make Russian economic revovery extremely long and painful. Putin can only lose ultimately, and that is extremely dangerous for the world.   see bbc.com and al jazeera.com   . ~A~.

It is like you say: Yes, time is necessary for such things as this. That being said, until I am ready enough to lay the story on its back and dissect it like an Egyptian witch, who rips the entrails out and throws them upon the altar, it shall sleep in its sarcophagus as a mummified draft. Ah, how these analogies make me snicker. Thank you for your comment. P.S. Judging by your computer composure, the way it seems, you are far from crazy; but I fancied the remark no less cute.

From start to finish, this: From start to finish, this left me breathless.    "if hers was a madness then he wanted in" Such an exquisite line that hooked and reeled me in. All I wanted was to know this sureal and enlightened being better, and I became the observer at " the edge of Mirror Lake " pondering a living miracle.    Then the true magic happened. With a silky, narrative voice you presented the wildlife she seemed to be an extension of and hit us (beautifully) with the timeless, esoteric truth of Oneness.    So happy to have discovered your work. I'll be reading more!

"dead is dead" That's a poem: "dead is dead" That's a poem within a poem, and it says more than the most poignant elegy could ever say. No sermon or details were needed to empower your explosive, intelligent insights. This seized my heart with both hands and left me with no words but "I get it! Dead. Is. Dead. And each untimely death is one too many."    Excellent.

I certainly understand the: I certainly understand the frustrations of editing, and I've tossed out more unfinished stories and books than I care to mention, but I tell you truthfully that from what I've read of your prose, you have that special something that keeps people devouring the words. I only wish I had the time and energy to read more of you.    You can consider this a practice run and start over, but whatever you decide, it would be a tragedy to give up. There are so many stories and books inside you, and I truly believe someday you'll look back and say "That crazy lady was right!".

A magnificent tribute worthy: A magnificent tribute worthy of a groundbreaking life. The metaphorical splendor of the resilient "petaled fleece" is truly inspiring. A radiant memorial.
