Nothing to forgive, I am glad: Nothing to forgive, I am glad for your kind words, and yes she seems to have bounced back very well.  Her appetite is good, and she seems to be quite alert . . . when she isn't taking a snooze on her pile of blankets.

I can relate to your pain,: I can relate to your pain, sir. It's hard to accept that, though we do the best we can for animals that are dear to us, we can't always know the signs in time. For the things you could not help, the love that you gave to Hazel, I'm sure was ever present to her through even her sickness. I'm sure hers, for you, was, and it's clear, does carry on, as well. This is a beautiful, heart wrenching tribute. It seems to justice to the care involved.   All the best to you.

That is beautiful. I: That is beautiful. I appreciate the timing of this, as I was just - yet again - a learner on the value of silence as I experienced a power outage yesterday. In a sense, I experienced many of the seasons of silence you so poetically touch on, in one evening in the dark. To find your poem here, re-enforcing my renewed experience, is appreciated.
