Society gave me a definition;
I created a story with poetry…
I had stage fright;
yes, I was shy…then society
defined my persona and an
image was established
—I ran with the idea; creating
a story of my life with poetry,
and only I will tell it best.
The beginning felt surreal, but
never a doubt in my mind I
would become the SoulCritic…
poet of our time and generation.
[I recall being the featured poet
for two years in a roll…]
Today I am featured in the Inner
Ear Poetry Jam in Fresno, and the
Loud Mouth Poetry in Visalia;
a friend from high school told me,
“Oh, so you stuck with that!” …
”THAT?” he probably meant poetry!!
Anger and hate were my first
inspirations and the influence of high
powered drugs, never a junkie, might
of overdose, but I don’t recall.
Today my environment inspires me,
including you the audience.
These pages I bleed my life on have
become my haven, my soft asylum,
and purgatory to all my unwritten
poems; in between those poems there
are a few love letters never given.
My life is an open book with missing
pages—the darkest years are haunting
memories now; at times they reminisce
with me… again.
Define me as a poet and storyteller;
I create passion with nouns, verbs, and
pronouns (words)
a love letter never given is
a love letter never given
is much better than a love letter never written,
but time plays a part that only the gods can control...
oh please oh please soul critic poet,
n'er stop bearing your soul!!!
as usual, i love this piece of yours... <3

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
