the only definition
that seems fittingly so,
is that a 'facebook friend'
could be anyone...
you simply do not know,
the 'unknown zone'
may be the place they
call home,
it's somewhere 'out there',
not here, and not gone.
so dear facebook friend,
with communication
so penned,
wherever you are,
i cannot say,
but you've been
a dear friend,
forever and a day,
you are always there
with you cute
profile picture,
smiling as we chatter,
through the strains
of life's strictures,
i never met you,
and yet blindly,
we converse,
about everything online,
in fact, all in the universe,
you're there when
it's raining,
and even in the snow,
carved in digital
realities, which
little of I know,
but now the time has come
for me to clean up
this list, and i fear
i must delete you,
oh, please don't
be pissed!
exactly you're
mission, i dont
have clue, but
believe me my dear,
our friendship's
like glue,
on my page you
are hidden,
so you won't notice
you're not there,
til your next quip
or comment,
attempted to share.
we never exchanged
phone calls, or
met for a beer,
but my inbox is open
so you can email
all year,
you live miles away,
but believe me
of this,
you're as close
as you were ever,
even though we
n'er kissed,
if there's one
thing to learn
from this digital void,
is that social networking's
for fun, an accessory,
to be enjoyed,
because although
we are spirit,
this life is so,
so much more,
our friendship conceived
through this virtual birth,
but truly my friend,
our names on a list
does not show
our true worth.

Maybe I'm missing out but I
Maybe I'm missing out but I don't use facebook. Matter of fact just saying it feels weird. I don't hate it or anything just not my cup of tea. I'm young but something in me won't let the old ways die. I don't read my books on a tablet and I listen to music from the 60's I'm not afraid to admit I know Diana Rosss is.
Long days and pleasant nights

Turning pages is part of the
Turning pages is part of the anticipation in reading a super good book. Diana Ross...The Temptations, The Four Tops....and the late Michael Jackson....Motown it was an incredible time for music.

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
Facebook friend:
I think with fb friends there is a tendancy to be very personal with your chatter. With post poems there are an array of topics to write poetry about and involve your inner most thoughts and ideas and also different styles of poetry to attempt also; that can help build a truer friend relationship.

Facebook can be a tool for
Facebook can be a tool for many things. For me, I used it to grow and do tons of self introspection with. I have met (only online, albeit) a plethora of great and interesting people through my use of it. All my fb friends are people I have never met in actuality. We discuss and share opinions and insights into a vast array of different topics and at times, get extremely deep. I love fb..and have had extremely good discussions there...but the question remains...What IS a friend you have never met? I think that for myself...they are a reflection of me.

and yet... here we all are. I have never met any of you. But still we share personal pieces of art and wisdom. Glorius isnt it?
very interesting write
online friends, especially ones that you don't even know who they are, are good if you need advice. i think. like they're unbiased because they don't know who you are. and everyone can just say anything. because no one will know. ohkay, what i was thinking didn't exactly come out right in this comment. ugh. this isn't how i imagined it in my head.
Haha!!! See? Bottom line
Haha!!! See? Bottom line is...you don't know who they are. lmao....too funny. I like fb because it allows me to socialize with others and reflect upon myself. I get clarity of thought from that. Of course I can do that in everyday life as well, but people in everyday life don't always enjoy pondering the same things as I do, so with fb, (and actually, the internet as well) there are many different sources for me to consider different ways to consider a query or question I may have.

Strangely enough, so far for me pp isn't at all like fb for me. I think it has to do with this being more of a site where there is a lot of people who are serious about poetry....there is a hobby here. I don't know. It seems different. I haven't deleted anyone here yet, ever, and never met anyone (that I know of). I think I sort of agree with Rose....it's that everyday thing on fb that sort of gets to you Especially when people tell you theri daily routine, and you never even met them. Idk. I've had some excellent interaction with people on fb. I am in no way knocking it, just saying that it is what it is. It's a list of names....even those you think you know...are they really who they say they are? You don't know, right?

A friend is one who sees you as the subject of your own life, and not as an object to be used in theirs, Bishu.

No, of course...not everyone
No, of course...not everyone is the same...but I would not want to communicate with people through the internet only. I know there are plenty who do, but they also use other means...such as Skype, or other video telephony.
