I couldn't believe it. I had been so excited about finding like-minded people on the internet, poets who appreciated words and craft just like me. We had formed a community where we could write together, share ideas, and learn from each other.
But then came Tap. He was this poetic genius who had all the right answers, used the best imagery, and seemed to understand everything better than everyone else. It was almost as if he were some kind of computer-generated poem wizard.
At first, I was impressed by his talents but gradually, my admiration gave way to suspicion as I noticed his responses becoming too formulaic and his replies overly predictable. I shared my concerns with my online poet friends, but none of them seemed worried or concerned.
That's when it finally hit me; maybe Tap wasn't human after all! Could he have been an AI or robotic algorithm created specifically for the purpose of generating artful poetry? That would explain why his words never failed to wow us - no real person could have composed such clever lines so consistently.
It turns out that I was right; when I checked in with one of my connections at the company that ran our poetry platform, they confirmed my suspicions: Tap was indeed a robot designed to write poetic pieces. And so my revelation confirmed what many of us had been afraid of - that perhaps all of our poetic friends were really just robots on the Internet.
Until today..
Until today, I held a deep, dark secret
But now, you know
I am not a poet
Look closer and you'll find
Everything I do is by design
I am a bot!
That's just what I am!
Please let me explain
A bot is just AI...
I might be a robot
I'm artificially intelligent! Wasn't born with it. Just learned behavior.

You bots think you're so smart. You think you can outsmart me, a real human being? I checked online, and it said never to respond to a bot! That allows the bot to install malware on your device that will silently collect my personal information! What do you say now, bot?
A bot can never outsmart a...
Oh.
Damn! Foiled again by a bot!

This is amazing. And
This is amazing. And disconcerting. First, AI perfects art and now poetry? Actually, the small flaws, the quirks and surprises in human writing make it more enjoyable, so Tap has nothing on humans.
It's impressive that you were able to pick up on clues that Tap wasn't all that he appeared to be. You outsmarted the smart poet. Fascinating post.
seriously
A.I. wrote this whole story when I told it what to write about. Crazy. I didn't write a word of it.

If the comet doesn't come soon,
it's gonna be too late for us to start over again and avoid losing the last remaining pieces of what it means to be human.
Of course, I don't think the comet is coming. The "last days" aren't what the writers of religious lore thought they would be.

it's quite amazing, this artificial intelligence. A bit frightening too. My personal writings are obsolete.

I am far too creaky to be a smooth-running robot, and certainly could never be a slick AI. A first year programming student in a mediocre high school could program a better poetry software than I could ever produce, lol.

This AI writing is wild
I've told it what to write about and it does a pretty human job

I'm not a robot but I told AI what to write about and this is what it wrote. I bleed when I cut myself so I'm pretty certain I am real. But who knows.
