My Marionette

Controlled by your strings

No will to move

Do my bidding

My marionette

Walk not freely

But by the will of thy master

Move by darkness

My marionette

Others gaze upon you

Upon your gorgeous frame

Dance for me dance

My marionette

Waltz into nightmares

Mystic rays of moonlight

Death may come

My marionette

Joints dispurced

Shattered beyond chance

How could this happen

My marionette

Never live but parish

Alone you wait

In eternal hibernation

My marionette

I have not fogotten about you

My marionette

Shed no tears

Feel no pain

Show no weakness

My marionette

Await my return

Until I am free

Free from this horrid cotastraphy...

Earth

Then and only then

Will we waltz together once more

Forever and always

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this poem because I've always had a strange connection to marionettes.  Although I've never had one nor have one at this present moment, I still feel as though we are connected.  It is about a marionette that I have and I describe it.  One day it breaks and dies.  I then tell it to wait for me, to wait until I die so that we can be together again for eternity.
