Concrete Slopes and City Lights

Walking with you sometimes hand in hand

It always used to be my plan

High Park was special, but not like that night

Where we walked and talked together on Tennessee land

I wanted to cry that night

I felt so entranced in you

Sometimes the words wouldnt come out

But I thank you for each and every fight

You taught me valuable lessons

About forgiving and forget

You reminded me how to be a Christian

And to never to regret

I must admit that I didn't know where to start

I thought slow as I walked fast

All I wanted was to get you back

It isn't like I could just take back my heart

Now that we had our walk

We had our talk

It is now time to act

The band played loud

I scanned the crowd

Until I saw your face

My beaufitul,

My lovely thing,

You are not filled with disgrace

I thank you so much

For being my friend

And for talking and walking those nights

Always remember

That when you need me

I'll be here,

I promise to come back for you again.

Author's Notes/Comments:

For her, the one that can bring me to my knees and stand me back up with a simple soft touch.  The soft touch came just in time.  Tennessee is one place I will never forget to love.

Yes...tennessee has a warm place in my heart as well...although other parts of it are covered in ice there. either way...great lessons were learned...great tears were shead...and the most rejuvenating time of my life happened right there. never have i been so close to what i wanted. it almost makes me cry to think of the memories i had there. that is one time in my life i would always wish to go back to and relive. i love tennessee and i love you for making it twice as magical.
