Oh Lord

Oh Lord,
~*~

Oh Lord,
I have sinned against you
and I have confessed before
give me the strength and resolve to confess now
I once held you to that of fiction,
with a twisted sense of perversion.

But now that I see, I see that I was wrong
Love is not written within a book, or held behind its words
Where everyone must travel their own paths, find where they belong
The divine can be seen everywhere, jumping between worlds
Oh Lord,
Within me there is a spark of life, that of creation
call it a soul, call it divine, call it what you will
Where everyone tries to live up to a standard of perfection
everyone sinning, then repenting just to feel.

I know God, my existence, and what it means to love
damned to be flawed, idols to be resisted, for the universe lies above.
Heaven and Hell, Good and bad
soaked in blood and a sacrifice to be had
Where we dance with devils, in childish lands
playing with religion with idle hands.

I know where I fell down, I know where I tripped
stopped believing in myself, ready to be kicked
and so I pray, but not for me
but rather this day, for everyone to see their beauty.
Oh Lord,
my divine right
hold to me my spiritual insight
so that the day may be blessed along with the night.
Through time and space, energy dances with grace

Author's Notes/Comments:

hmm So I have never really prayed before, but I am guessing this is how it would go if I ever did.

Its beautifull! It truely is, and its so correct. Its good that you see where you have fallen, so next time, when you walk that street once more, you wont trip over that damned crack again. :) You see it this time, and you walk more carefully. This is a really good poem, I love it, cause it talks about alot of things, all put into one huge topic and poem. I dont know much about prayers ether, but this sounds as good as any that iv heard. :)

Aw, thank you not sure if I

Aw, thank you not sure if I really nailed what I was going for in this piece but it did come out decent enough. I've never been any good at facing Religion before so its a different battlefield than I am used to.
