The Maldives is an island nation in the Indian Ocean, down the southern side of the Indian Republic. I wrote this poem on behalf of one of my best friends, Abdulla Sahid who hails from the Island of Hinnavaru. As I happened to work in the Maldives for almost about a decade, I thought I could write a poem and dedicate it to all my friends over there at Hinnavaru in the Lhaviyani Atoll. If there is any mistake, kindly bear with it and inform me so that I can immediately rectify it. In case of any objection from any quarters, I am ready to withdraw it with lots of appologies.
