Author's Notes/Comments:

Been doing SongFancy five songs in five days challenge...I am not too good with coming up with backing chords and don't always have a melody idea for my lyrics but I have been posting lyrics daily...this was day five songwriting prompt was White Bicycle....

Abstract Thoughts

Author's Notes/Comments:

I was doing an exercise for one hundred days of songwriting where you just write whatever for ten minutes straight and then see if you have anything you can use...it inspired writing this poem cuz it made me think of a few abstract poems I wrote with a couple friends of mine ages ago...

I'll Find A Way

Author's Notes/Comments:

I am doing a sync songwriting workshop and part of our homework was to do a brain dump for lyrics that would work for sync. I thought of the topic of overcoming. I am not a brain dump type person...that method doesn't work for me...my stuff comes more on autopilot so I did this for the assignment...I give myself permission to do things that work for me...

When Everything's Gone Mad

Author's Notes/Comments:

reading Debbie Harry's memoires and seeing When everything's gone mad inspired this poem...a blast from the past friend of mine who calls every so often out of the blue surprised me and got me a kindle edition of the book. He knows I love Blondie. He is the one who turned me onto the band. I got Parallel Lines and then got every other album i could find of theirs...pretty sure I have them all...some are on cassette tho and no longer play from overplaying them so much...I love Pollinator. I got that one on CD and a couple more I didn't have...I think I bought some that the cassette wore out on CD...I love their music. I am almost halfway through the book already...interesting story.
