Presumably, only in this way do the dead pray for us; and the prayers they have set into motion, in life, continue to oscillate, until answered, after their death. I believe my own salvation experience may have been brought about this way, through the prayers of a devout Christian relative who, in fact, passed away almost seventeen years before I became a Christian.
