"Looking at the girls as they all gather by the window and wave at their two friends as they walk away with the social worker breaks my heart. It made me remember a scene on the movie “Girl, Interrupted” where the girls would always stare at the window together and wish they could be somewhere out there, yet the crazy world outside scares the shit out of them and therefore build their own secure world at the center. Of course the girls here are still so much different in a way, but they are still victims of this vampire world. I would never know how it is to be like them. Some of them lived in different temporary shelters all their lives, some were able to go back to their families, some newly admitted girls have uncertain future waiting for them. I just can’t help but ask myself what each of them was thinking. I wish I could reach in and touch their heart." (excerpt form my Xanga journal- Jelrin:Beyond Borders) ~© jerlin
