I can't explain it, but in: I can't explain it, but in some way I know with a certainty that we are never alone. Hang in there. I know, sometimes, writing gets us across the gaps. A gift and tool, when we need it, for sure.
You're welcome, and I see. A: You're welcome, and I see. A way to pass and make good of the difficult time. Many a historical irishman would approve, I imagine.
Thank you for the comment,: Thank you for the comment, and for the good wish. No metaphorical connection, it really started as a response to the skewed rhythm of how I move on the walker. From where I sit to the bathroom is kind of a long walk, and the return is usually the more difficult part of the round trip.
The world is always ending on: The world is always ending on T/v.
I suppose, now, that would also need to be said for social media.
Away from the satellites and fiber optic cables, the world's doing slightly better. Maybe only slightly, but, I suppose per your desires shared elsewhere, there's a little space to breathe ; )
This is one of yours that, to me, is a "classic". Maybe it's just the way it connects with me, having definitely walked a similar path in the last decade of my life, but I think it's more than that. It has your trademark meshing of personal observation, philosophy and time stamped contemporary culture sown together with dualing needles of self assuredness and self depracation - both feeling sincere.
Anyway, definitely thoroughly appreciated here.
Fantastic piece of work: I love this poem, on the whole, but especially "i knew she was / the music / that she listens / to". It wrapped me in, and the next line "dreaming---" seams it all together.
Beautiful, endearing.
It: Beautiful, endearing.
It makes me think of the urge, one I know that many poets have felt, to be down on their older, "lesser" writings, and sometimes even disgard them. But, much like this drawing, even truly more primative writes of the poet were telling their own creation story ; )
Very much enjoyed this read and the reflection it brought about.
I applaud the coversational: I applaud the coversational tone with which this poem conveys its contents. And that final stanza---that brilliant, triumphant, and very profound final stanza---releases a tremendous, and highly encouraging, power.
Aw so sweet! Love is: Aw so sweet! Love is something you work for the harder you work the deeper it gets. Not everyone has the the constitution compassion or the fortitude to make it last. Glad you found a source of great blessing and I hope she knows how lucky she is to have someone like you who sees it. Lovely words to melt hearts, frostbite? I don't see it. Maybe lovebite?
