Not quite yet

The beast is caged
Roaring to get out
Howling with rage
Clawing me as I scream and shout
I refuse to bend,
Never will I break.
Still I have to pretend
That I'm not drowning in this lake
Lake of misery and pain
All I can do is let,
Let him go, I am mundane,
The demon is free, almost, but not quite yet.

Do you think

Is it a metaphor? What if I truly feel this pain? I can see where you would get the metaphor thing. But the pain I'm talking about is very real..

No metaphore

I feel you there. Mine tried to kill me about a month ago. He was trying to tear my guts out. Tortured me for a good 5 days. Couldn't eat solid food for nearly two weeks. Little effer. Hope yours lets up on you.

like this

When I'm able to keep my beast caged, he tears me apart from inside. He gets out once in a while and causes all kinds of destruction around me.
