MAKE IT REAL

Bless the lands of all people...

my heart sings out to you,

join in my song,

we can't go wrong,

let's give it one more chance to,

make peace real.

Bless the hope in our children...

their hearts cry out to you;

"I

Love

You"...

Tell them you feel the same.

That we won't step back,

we'll reach for the chance to,

make peace real.

Hear me calling out to you....

tell me you feel the same,

reach out your hand,

join in the stand,

let's give it one more chance to,

make peace real.

Bless the lives gone before us....

they are calling from their graves;

"Let

Peace

Reign...

let no more death be in vain."

Hear their souls cry,

Now is the time to,

make peace real.

Bless the people of all nations...

it is up to you and me to,

Sing

Gods

Song...

tell us where we went wrong,

help us to stand

Lord, you're in command,

Just give us One Last Chance to,

make peace real.

Can you hear me calling out to you?...

Tell me you feel the same.

We're part of the whole,

not pieces alone.

I think we're worth, one more chance to,...

make

peace

real.

Dear Valerie,

That is what I call a poem that cross hearts and invade them with peace. I loved this poem. Cheers.

you know... John Lennon was telling us way back when..... GIVE PEACE A CHANCE.... it is so sad to hear and see these things happen day in and day out...... people need to stop and listen

Very nice thoughts, penned very well. If only more people cared about each other and less cared about being greedy, we could have peace like this.

Amen. We are only one voice in the wind, shared by many who fear to speak. That is why despots destroy the intelligensia, the poets, and the artists, because through their arts their voices are amplified to those who bear the yoke of oppression. Well written piece. All the best to you.

Thanks for letting me know about this one. Yes Peace is something to sing about, sing for, pray for, work for...all those things... There is a twenty four hour around the clock "prayer for peace" vigil going on in the temple outside of Washington DC this has been going on for nearly twenty years ...so many people have dedicated their prayers for peace in this buddist temple...they have all been volunteers to pray.

Valerie, Sentiments are right on! And written so movingly. I am not a believer, so I feel it is up to us to "sing people's song" "find out ourselves where we wemt wrong" and "give ourselves one last chance to make peace real" Whatever our beliefs, the result is what all caring people desire, and this poem made me feel good this morning.
