Small Belief In God
I'd started to forget
why I had a small belief in
the man in the heavens, God.
But thanks to three people,
online this site,
I have started to remember.
Thanks alot, to Sylkie,
to Kara,
and also to Adam.
I'd forgoten things.
Things about how
you don't have to be 100%
a believer, but just have
a bit of you that believes.
You reminded me how
I had been contacted by
an angel when I was 5,
a few days before her death.
I'm grateful to you three,
for helping me to
keep my heart open,
that believing isn't seeing.
It's more trust,
and even experience.
Adam,
Your kind words to me,
on my little Jessica's death,
were very touching,
and made me feel like crying.
That was very sweet,
and got me to thinking.
Thinking about my belief
in the Big Guy, God.

Thanks for talking
to me about how
my little Jessica contacted you!
This has opened
questions inside of me,
but has also brought
some faith back to me.
And Kara,
your belief in God,
unwavering and strong.
Shairing it with everyone.
That's the kind of belief
and dedication in God,

yes my dialogue is never ending and yes you must always question what enters your body no matter what form it takes. I have the same worries with speaking in tongues, it was an ancient thing and unless can by translated is not a good thing at all or simply mumbling trance. I am sorry if I offend those who think it is a sign of going to heaven. I cant help what happens to me. It opens me up spiritually to accept more than there is, through what I know, through what I have experienced. the greatest thing about Christianity and jesus's teachings is that there is room for all of us and that no 'man' is unwanted in Gods realm. the adaptability of the message insists on a new way. Jesus was a Rebel. and he paved a new way with his blood. we cant understand it but we must be thankful for it. As for me I have a responsibiltiy yes for sure. I dont try to do anything that would intentionally cause harm; But unfortunately there are some out there that are so self absorbed they create this idea on thier own and try to tie you to it we are not responsible for interpretation only intention. I would definately trade what happens to me for a real understanding of human nature versus nuture and an the complexities of the human spirit and psyche. I can only grow on my own, my journey is my journey. if it lights the way for some other to tread the path their footsteps will differ but welcome all the same. I refuse to be closed minded. I can not. I will not succumb to mans idea. If God is spiritual then we must accept all that is spiritual otherwise we have to accept there is more than one God. (thats a little heavy I admit) There are many complex ideas involved in these issues and I try to navigate them with due care and discernment. my religion is Orthodox Christian. I dont always honor it. Sometimes I put God first. other times I put the spirit of him first, and of course every now and then more often than I admit I put myself first i am not free of ego. hense posting poems. :) thanks for your concern and the dialogue. Thats an interesting way to put it, that speaking in tongues is an ancient thing. I must confess I may not know much about its history, other than yes its used in the Church. I've seen speaking in tongues, and even started to do it some and interpretation. When it is simply mumbling, there is nothing behind it. But when it is truly from the Holy Spirit, things change. One of the days with a good friend of mine (a man of God, now going to translate the Gospel for people in Indonesia), we spoke in tongues and that was seriously one of the happiest, most joyful moments I've ever had. Its led me out of sin and into God's light before. But, as in all things, we must be careful not to be mislead or drawn astray. I believe the spiritual gifts are from the Holy Spirit for our benefit and for furthering God's Kingdom.
But you have a good head on your shoulders. Maybe your more gifted at thinking this through than I am (I see what you mean when you talk about the way you personally think). Anyway, I wanna say, you've been really mature and graceful about this discussion - thank you SSmoothie. Its easy to get caught up in the argument, and forget you're interacting with real, human people. I appreciate it.
Also, I think its really neat, your perspective from Orthodox Christianity - you seem to be quite an earnest and honest person, and I'm am glad to have you for a fellow Christian. (And you know, I'll be praying for you.)

Hi my friends,
I just want to make it clear that speaking in tongues is not wrong or bad, but opening yourself up to this it is important to have safe guards. It is for some religions a sign of going to heaven. if it happens spontaneously it needs a reason that safe guard I have is that it is interpreted. ancient latin hebrew etc they say is some language that comes through. Othodox means unchanged since the religions inception. still use the latin services and it is translated into prayer books. for myself there are many tricks I have been privy to. let me bring this one situation that will help you 'understand' my position 'not justify' it. In a church service not of my own branch of christianity, there was a call to speak in tongues and a lady stood up and started sprouting words in German. everyone was impressed except A Hungarian lady stood up mortified and ran out of the church. When asked why? she said 'those words they were blasmphemous! they were evil calling Mary a horrible name it was not of God' and she was disgusted. Her father was Half German and they lived in Germany for a time too. this is why I question everything and my compulsions. I need to pray more about it and yeah I guess I get lazy so the easier thing to do is just put up a coping mechanism. the other thing my dear Wolfie is that Pentacostal is not the most hated at all. there are great people everywhere and there are people addicted to sin everywhere. if anything, the fear that the catholic church is most feared for reasons I won't go into as I would like to keep this discussion positive and do not want anyone thinking that because I raised the issue that i believe it to be so. The Holy Trinity is an integral part of Christianity. the Holy Ghost or the holy comforter, and the Son Christ and the Father Creator are one parts of a whole. Each had a part to play in the immaculate conception. so there are a few misconceptions through out christianity but it is important that we remain brothers and sisters in christ as culture divides and spirituality unites. one book; two halves; many ways to worship. having said that I am strong enough in my faith to have friendships outside my faith. I wouldnt like to be judge for my struggle with my own personal belief system it is hard enough as it is :) but the disscussion is interesting. like I said I dont think it is wrong to speak in tongues merely that it must be safe guarded and prayer to know the art of discernment and what that truly means. No, I think what you have said here is perhaps very wise and quite reasonable... and its commendable for you to be well-informed and critically minded, and yet have such faith in God. Haha, and yeah thank you, I've had similar thoughts about being a doctor myself!

Thanks Moriah - remember, you and me we aren't perfect. There's somethings that are difficult to learn, but the process of learning is important! Faith is a blessing, and so make sure you steward it well (by learning through God's Word what is the Christian life and then seeking it and living it). I had great Thursday, and my heart still burns inside with love for God. One more thing, sometimes the concept of relationship with God may seem weird, but trust me its what you were made to be - you were designed to be in love with God. So when God seems like the "distant, aged One in the ethereal skies" or perhaps even a "cosmic killjoy," remember just who God is... God is love, God is the Creator, God is the Judge against evil and sin, God is a Father to you, and as Christ, your Savior and Lord. Try to think about and learn about what each of those things has to say about God's identity, because that pours into your identity, heart, and well-being.

God helps me through my hardest times. God has been there for me. I know I may dissapointment God with my openess and my views on religious sects and fads, but I know that I never stray far and that my personal relationship is strong, religious zealots try to push me away from God but I won't listen, I know God made me this way till I know different. I love this poem, and I too really admire horse spirits dedication I hope one day mine will be strong as hers and adam's but my mind works fast to make connections and requires deep interrogations of what if and why not scenarios. I honestly feel I am on a loving track in line with the creators greater vision. I just pray each time I'm on the right path... HugSS and sincerest thanks SSylkie.

I'm glad you like it hon. I can tell, that you WILL reach the point that Kara (horsespirit) and Adam are at. I can't say this for sure, but I believe that God is probably very proud of you. It doesn't matter that you are a little different, because, imo, I believe that your being like you are, is beautiful. I would love to be able to be contacted by spirits/angels the way you are. I believe that God knew that you would be able to handle it, and so he placed this ability to you because he knows that you will be able to help them, and he knows that he can count on you, and trust you. =)

My dear friend
It's so hard to just talk about it. The darker sides hate with so much passion, so much paranoia they hate to give up any soul under Influence, they just can't handle it. They used to give me visions of self harm, jumping off things visions of my 1000 deaths and curiosity without fear... But I had always been a child who was spiritually close to God. I fought everything. I won, till one day I lost, big time my biggest mistake and biggest regret. I put too much faith in a human being who was not developed enough to cope. But it's all ok now. Life is hard but I am incredibly lucky. But the stain remains. I will never wash it clean, I dont want to be forgiven I want to make up for it forever. though God has forgiven me, I will still stuff up nd untill I'm am sure of my beliefs I want to remember my burden. I will never take that piece out of my heart. Never! it stays with me.

Do you hear much from God
Do you hear much from God Himself? If so, maybe thats the gifts of discernment and of prophecy. There's a responsibility with that, but God can use you in powerful ways, as you may well know. Can I offer advice? I am also spiritually discerned, and I want to say be careful with what interacts with you. A king of Israel consulted with the dead and it cost him his life. There's things that shouldn't be done. But don't fear your gift, because it is from God - just remember to test what speaks to you. It can be dangerous not to. If they reject that Jesus came in the flesh to the world as Lord and Savior, then they are not with God. As a Christian, ask the Holy Spirit to help you.
