Graveyard Of My Dreams

She's buried in the graveyard of my dreams

and the writin' on the headstone's

just the same as all the rest.

Those words I know so well,

Yet hesitate to tell,

how she left me in the graveyard of my dreams.

Once one lonely night when first we met

She just wasn't like the others,

seemed like how she was the best.

But her brown hair and blue eyes

blinded me to all her lies

and she left me in the graveyard of my dreams.

I was walkin' in the park one cloudy day

and the sunshine of her smile

had convinced me, in a way,

that my lonely life was over

as a solitary rover

so I said hello and settled down to stay.

Oh she turned me on like others never will

I gave her all my love

hoping she would love me still

But our parting finally came

When I learned her married name

Now she's buried in the graveyard of my dreams.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Another poem that I had written and intended as song lyrics... but, like the others... it, too, bit the dust!

Damn that's good. If you want a song, it will come to you. Just in the meantime, don't stop writing until you're heart's content.
