Cosmological Constant, 1

[after these poems:  "Movement" by orangejunpsuit and "Space" by Morningglory,

and the various cosmic poems of Patriciajj]

Our flesh is made of star-stuff.
Our souls have been placed in that flesh by the Divine.

Some of us---poets, artists, and appreciators---

are called to give the whole Cosmos
the poetic awareness of itself.

Not idios kosmos;

but kairos kosmos---

. . . next in glory to enduring love . . . .
and to the intimacies lovers share.

Author's Notes/Comments:

The two kosmos phrase are from Heraclitus, Fragment B89.  The quoted line "next in glory to enduring love" is from Wallace Stevens' poem, Sunday Morning, III.  The title is a phrase used by the astronomer Edwin Hubble.

You certainly did justice to

You certainly did justice to the wonderful works by Morningglory and orangejumpsuit, and thank you kindly for the mention.

This expansive work scaled the galaxies then landed spectacularly with those last lines that accomplished exactly what the cosmos seeks in your words: to give it "the poetic awareness of itself". I applaud you.
