It died.

Something died in me today.

The last resurrection

truly was the last.

The Phoenix vanished in a puff of ssmoke

Pelted With ice cold diamonds

from your vague heart.

Crystalline

Thorns and daggers

rest upon my

ashes.

A dead grotesque stump. Maybe

A dead grotesque stump. Maybe that's a better analogy. It's uglier and doesn't make for a better poem but...when I was seven we moved into a new house the backyard had this ugly stump I assumed it was long dead but one day out of the blue it started sprouting leaves. It took forever but by the time we moved out a small tree that looked like a bush had formed. Maybe you have fallen from your perch I don't know but there's no reason to think you can't grow back into it.

Long days and pleasant nights

Diamonds

resting upon your ashes, because only through intense heat and pressure is brittle rock forged into the unbreakable gemstone.
And only you, milady, have the strength to turn that heat and pressure into fissures of phoenix flames, not only rising, but taking flight high above those ashes. And like I said before, Reach out, and take my hand :)
