So in the grand scheme of things
we don't matter, we never did.

If we mattered
the whole world
would be on our side
And the heavens would realign
and we'd be together
Saving the world
one sad case at a time

Well, it isn't
and I can't afford to break
This love makes me weak
though I know
I must bend but not break

We defy the matter,
And the principles of love
only we need to combine.
Need...
Need...
to combine...

I guess those words
you told me weren't lies,
they speak so loudly in your actions
I've gone deaf with love

I can't say them for the
Lies they will drown
And pain they will unleash
Of longing for the one i must miss
and breaking
for the one I must keep

The vow is sacred
and this not many take
As solemnly as I
cursed for reverence
Of an honourable idea
championed by mine
A heart so torn and scorned

I paid the high price for love
And it flows upon the wind
To touch your face,
That chin, that jaw, and
those lips I'll never taste.

That true love's kiss
and warm embrace
never given is rightfully yours
Though It hurts
I can never say
or lay claim

It must for our sakes
end this way...
Stay strong.
Bend closer love,
but do not break!
