Words are seen on a white screen.
This is how we speak.
But words are not always enough .
“I will never let you go”
You can’t hold me at night .
The other side of my bed is empty.
“I’m going to marry you some day”
You can’t show me that you'll get along with my family.
I don’t know how you will truly treat me in person.
“We’re meant to be”
How can you possibly know that?
We’ve only been dating a month.
“I wish you were here”
I do too because then we would be together.
I wouldn’t ever doubt you then.
“I love you, baby”
I smile.
“I love you too, babe. Good night”
I put my phone down and turn out the light.
