" My Love "

Folder:
Lost Loves

I fell in love,

so it was true.

My heart was anxious,

to be shared with you.

As I recieved the rose,

that you sent to me.

I was astonished,

at how this love could be.

We were so happy,

each and every day.

Just so much in love,

in our own special way.

But one day something happened,

I couldn't believe it was true.

An accident had occured,

concerning you.

Someone was driving ,

and had a little to much to drink.

For that I lost My Love,

because someone forgot to think.

Author's Notes/Comments:

this poem I wrote for a person I didn't even know. He was a manager at a Super Walmart Store where I use to live. His life was taken by a drunk driver, and I can never forget of hearing the morning news saying that there were an accident and someone had been a victim of a drunk driver!! Sadness filled me so!

I am so sorry that you had to bare the feeling of losing someone you loved. Its the worst feeling anyone could ever have to face. This poem really makes you think about life and how special it is. Knowing that it could be taken away at any second, of any minute, of any hour, of any day. It makes you want to live your life to the fullest. You will someday meet you love again. Good luck till then. Keep writing!

You know this poem tells a story repeated so often in this land. Drunk drivers are a real menace and they are never adequately punished.
Probably everyone who reads this poem will instantly recall a similar issue.
I do not drink. I do not care if others do, but I don't want them driving.
A student friend of one of my sons was killed recently by a drunk driver driving on the wrong way on the interstate.
The head on collision killed them both instantly. The boy was just going home from a school athletic practice. The drunk was....well who knows? ~Tim
