Who knew love like this exists, let alone is even real and tangible

Who knew that This is not a fantasy, you’re sitting next to me

I shake my head to wake myself up,

Your touch traveling through every bit of me

Forcing me back out of my head, 

You’re really here, I’m not sleeping, this is no longer just a dream

I’ve finally found it, I’ve reached it, I’m one of the few 

To have a love that love songs talk about

And movies try to portray 

Two souls tied for infinity with love that consumes like fire

Where even anger eventually gives way to forgiveness

And the worst arguments still end in desire

There is no love song, romance novel, or heart felt movie 

To come close to encompassing what we hold

I’d fantasize about the love I’ve seen, sang, and heard of

But the images on the screens and in my head fall so so short

To what this love truly is. 

You feel it at every brush of fingers

And it lingers ending every kiss

And it is mine, something I hold on to oh so dear

I’m no longer chasing clouds in search of,

Instead you calm me with your whispers that I hear

I feel you lying to next to, your eyes meet mine so clear. 

You’re real, and you are here

I’m blessed, not even lucky, to be holding on to you still

To have found, fought for, and kept the one 

That gives my soul ease

We’ve weathered many weathers and swam through so many seas

In a world filled with so many others, your soul is the only one my sees 

You heart beat is the only thing I listen for

When the outside gets too noisy

Moment of sleeping in your arms gives warmth, my home so cozy

That to not have you here I feel it oh so deep

That I end up reaching for you, reliving our moments in my sleep

Your smile erases the worst of days, and turns them back around

I was searching for myself out there

But when I found you I felt found

The world and my mind didn’t seem as hectic anymore, for you’re my peace of mind

I used to jump to every little noise at night, 

But with you I sleep safe and sound

You’re my serenity, my calmness, all the things 

I am naturally without 

Simple words of assurance and your voice pushes out my doubt

One solid squeeze of your embrace and I release the tension and tears I held that day

A few silly pokes and jokes with you gives laughter all the way

No matter how much time passes, I can still look back and have on a cheesy smile 

For every moment that we hold, love fills its every mile 

I’m often not too playful, more serious

But with you I’m ridiculous and at times even a clown 

I love to pour much into you, I hate to see you frown

My life with you is mesmerizing, as you turn my world all kinds of upside down

But it has never been more right and joyous

Without you by my very side

This love we hold is the most exhilarating roller coaster ride

With ups and downs but never lows

A love that seems to never die but constantly it grows

A love that is radiating off of both faces as it glows

A love that never hides or runs, but stays and shows

A love that we will Cary in our graves and even up above

A love they sing about in songs and talk about it movies

But they will never come close or be enough.
