Creatures

Folder:
Crimson

The creatures, they dance, in the darkest of night
Coaxing and guiding the flood from the sky
Tearing and clawing at the most fragile parts
Of love divided from pain-stricken hearts

The creatures, vile little things
Always wanting, always taking
Stealing away the sense of sensing
Numbing the tips of the heartstrings
The connection to life diminishing
All for the creatures’ gluttonous feeding

The soul can be broken, disheveled, disgraced
The essence of living, can lead to distaste
As the creatures assemble in the depths of the mind
Reminding us all that we endure to survive

The creatures, treacherous little fiends
Barraging the sanctified, tearing at seams
As we all fold and cower in the presence it seems
Of these vile little creatures, these wretched thieves
Taking away what we all hold dear
Making us all succumb to the fear

The heart can be mended, even after it’s torn
Creatures left in hiding, by a comforting word
Showing the soul there’s a great big world
Just waiting on the horizon to be explored

The creatures, those villainous beasts
Consuming the love out of every heartbeat
So I offer a hand, come and stand with me
Let’s show these creatures, the taste of defeat
Bring life to the princess, her king and her queen
To stand with a knight, and a woken prince charming

The world can be revived
The colors restored
The grey can be washed away

The soul can realign
The pain it deplores
Can be left in the mem’ries remains

For some strange reason,

For some strange reason, reading this, I can only think of one kind of creature....its called humans.

and...

Inner demons..
Sometimes the creatures only exist in the mind.
