Poignant, poised, proper, prosperous patience
Indelibly inked by lines written on pages
Seemingly masked by a concept of ages
To all that is writ in contextual spaces
We have a language all our own
A verse written between our souls
We speak in a tongue that only we know
And together we continue to grow
So when you spoke those words today
I'm afraid I didn't have words to say
I was caught by surprise, you see
My mind went racing, my heart skipped a beat
When I said we should go halves
I didn't think you took me serious
When I said I would take that
I thought you thought me delirious
So, when you told me today it has come to fruition
I wasn't quite sure how to gauge my intentions
Now, I'm standing here on the edge of tomorrow
Not entirely conscious of where we will go
I sit with my pen and my pad in hand
To scribe some semblance to help me understand
Everything changed in a breath with one word
Everything changed in the moment I heard
When you spoke those staggering words to me
To tell me that forever is something you see
In a future of blessings for the life we could lead
I couldn't find the right words to speak
In the moment you told me everything
Now, as I sit here in an attempt to find
The right way to tell you what's coursing my mind
All that was in me before is unseen
In a moment you changed the way that I see
When you spoke so sweetly, a gleam in your eyes
To tell me the news of the change in our tide
I gazed at you both confused and lovingly
The moment you spoke of your pregnancy
That
beginning was a tongue twister,
but in my case a brain twister,
I was reading silently.
I love how it kept building up,
It was like feeling the emotions from the parent.
Just so overwhelmed with joy,
and how you kept the word for the ending,
"Ended" it perfectly.
Good job, ROC. (^^)

Thank you
I'm happy that I could rise to the challenge :)
And happier that it could be sensed while being read.
