Good Blues, Bad Girl

She hails a cab feeling a bit cliche
But here in the big city, there's no other way
Arthur's Tavern, 57 Grove Street
She's come a long way and won't miss a beat
She arrives at the club feeling a bit anxious
Her heart beats heavy, she almost forgot this
Is it worth it, is love even real?
Can she remember how good it feels?
She checks her lipstick then steps inside
Was she foolish to come this far for a guy?
She then hears his guitar, she knows it too well
His fingers slide down the strings, she's now under his spell
He's on stage wearing black with boots made of rattlesnake skin
She giggles but can't stop her heart beating within
She imagines the touch of his shirt against her fingertips
The taste of his skin beneath her ruby red lips
There's no denying, no way to refuse
She found happiness in a boy playing the blues

I could feel the anxious doubt on the wisdom of our choices.  Nicely done.
