FRIEND INDEED

Folder:
2002 Poetry

The one who gives ear

when you need one

who harks thoroughly

sans bigotry

Whose mouth in mute

when you want to get loud

who sticks around

no matter what

Never whining

always grinning

Glimmering teeth

impossible to omit

A real friend

I have beside me

Who has been with me

come summer or drizzly

Who has seen my pains and gains

my turmoils and bliss

A bond no one can equate

a beautiful living

Soft pelt I love to stroke

and whose breed I love to grow

Burglars and strangers

are so afraid of his wrath

So never dare step on my friend's toe

for you might just become one of his foes
